The place where was born Polonaise in A Minor Oginski

There is a small town on the road from Minsk to Vilnius In Belarus. It is called Zalesie. And it is well known that in Zalesie lived for more than twenty years Duke Mikhail Kleofas Oginski. Author of the famous Polonaise. Perhaps this period was the happiest in life of Michael Oginski. In Zalesie were born his four children, there were musical meetings, so Zalesie was called "Athens of the North", was written much of his music here.

In 2012, the estate of Michael Oginski has been completely restored. I can not say that specifically, but rather by accident, I visited this place.

This is the stone on which Mikhail Oginski personally carved the words "Kosciuszko Shadows" - in memory of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, who died at that time in Switzerland.
