Rare still of Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B (King Tiger) №321 with Panter's gun.

in history •  8 years ago

03.28.1945 In the morning during the German counter-attack near the village of Küstrin-Kitts (Küstrin-Kietz), a tank hit a mine, lost speed, but continued to fire the gun. As a result, he was finished off with captured  Faustpatrone. Only one member of crew survived.

Unusual armament due to the difficulties of supply of German troops in the last months of the war. The original 88-mm KwK 43 L/71  gun has been replaced by 75-mm KwK 42/70 of  PzKpfw V «Panther»  tank.
