NEWARK -
A United Airlines flight suffered some flat tires when landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday.

Passengers aboard United Flight 961 from Frankfurt, Germany had little reason to worry as their plane was landing, shortly before 2 p.m.

Their calm suddenly turned to concern as several tires blew upon touching down.

"It was like crazy. I almost went flying out of my seat," said Briana Oakland, of Long Island.

Despite the blown tires and scattered magazines, everyone aboard the flight was uninjured.

Passengers remained on the tarmac for about an hour before being transported to the terminal.

The incident closed one of Newark's runways for several hours, causing a number of delays. Even so, many travelers arrived at the airport feeling happy about their travel time.
