The Killing of Peter Fechter

This is the first time I've heard about this and it seems strange. Maybe I just need to read more so I can learn more. On August 17, 1962, East German guards gunned down a young man trying to escape across the Berlin Wall into West Berlin. This is some of the story about that incident.
