Takengon dikenal sebagai kota dingin,jika anda mengunjungi kota ini jangan sampai lupa membawa baju tebal,apalagi jika anda berkemah di pinggir danau laut tawar.
Jika kita perhatikan danau laut tawar memang hanpir menyamai laut, danau ini juga dihiasi dengan ombak-ombak kecil. Kalau merekamnya dengan drone, danau laut tawar mencerminkan keindahan yang luarbiasa. Gunung gunung indah yang mengelilingi danau lau tawar.

Masyarakat Takengon mengenal kisah lembide dari generasi ke generasi, karena lembide merupakan mahluk yang paling berbahaya, jadi cerita ini di teruskan sampai ke anak-anak mereka, tiap generasi kegenerasi kisah lembide selalu di ceritakan, adapun tujuan nya adalah untuk mengingatkan anak-anak nya akan sosok mahluk yang mengerikan, yaitu lambide.
Warga sekitar danau laut tawar percaya dengan ada nya sosok lembide si penghisap darah manusia, para orang tua di sekitar danau sering mengingatkan anak-anak mereka akan bahaya sosok lembide.
hampir setiap tahun ada saja korban tenggelam di Danau Laut Tawar dan mereka ditemukan dalam kondisi kehabisan darah serta ada luka mirip gigitan binatang bertaring.
Bukan hanya lembide dan sosok putri ijo(putroe ijoe) saja yang ada di danau laut tawar atau danau air tawar
