Dutch "Christmas" Tradition - Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet

Last night, throughout much of the Netherlands, children unwrapped presents brought to them by Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) and his assistants Zwarte Piet (Black Peter) - but aren't they a whole 20 days early? In this video we're going to take a look at the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas which is also observed in parts of Belgium, Luxembourg and Northern France. The history behind how the real-life Saint Nicholas went from a Turkish Bishop to the figure of Sinterklaas who is himself the inspiration for "Santa Claus."
