Nothing matters better than top earning posts. So far I could learn only this thing in my short journey of this platform.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    Earnings do matter but we can't really judge performing post by earnings because a lot of steemians who may be interested in the post and upvote it may be minnows with not enough voting power so lots of votes will at this point translate to performing post. Post with low upvotes but high earnings were upvoted by a few whales.

      I agree. Problem is that lots of people upvotes a post without reading it's contents. They follow herd mentality. That's why whale's posts are always trending.
