Over 10,000 people turned out north of Paris on Sunday for a march against Islamophobia that drew criticism from both the government and the far right. Many of the protesters carried placards denouncing attacks on Islam, a number of women taking part wore traditional Muslim veils, while others had adopted veils bearing the blue, white and red colours of the French flag. The march was called by a number of individuals and organisations, including the Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF).

To my understanding, islamaphobia means the fear of Islam, as much as I'm not a Muslim I don't see any reason why anyone should fear islam, I get that some people can perpetrate evil all In the name of islam, but come on I support the protest though, just didn't like the fact that it had casualties

The Google definition describes islamaphobia as:

dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force.

And @arminnavabi doesn't like that they used the injuries as a banner to protest against "islamaphobia" when there is nothing wrong with disliking Islam, especially when one actually reads and knows what the Quran actually says.

@arminnavabi cares about Muslims since he cares about all people but he hates Islam based on what the Quran and other Islamic texts teach.

  • There IS something wrong with hurting others but there is nothing wrong with disliking Islam.
