I am not a fan of FIFA or UEFA because I've never believed they have the interest of the players at heart. Everything they have ever done has always been a result of how much money it can bring to their pockets. I don't understand how you make use of machinery to achieve a purpose without servicing it. It's the same way these players make more for these bodies and yet they are not allowed any moment of rest.

It's crazy how the world revolves around money and how they always want to take advantage of these players at their expense. I understand the World Cup is every 4 years and now there is a possibility that they would change it to every 2 years which has never been the case before. I am not even worried about the World Cup but the injection of other unnecessary tournaments after such a stressful season.

It was a long and stressful season which involved a lot of teams playing more games than usual and in all honesty, I see it as a complete waste of time and more money to the organizers. Some of these players haven't had a decent vacation in a long time and this is why they are prone to injuries when the new season starts. When Nation's League ends, they might only have just a few weeks before they resume to their various clubs and then start travelling for their Pre-season. It's going to be another long season without a deserved rest.

It's everything they come up with just to make this money and it's becoming annoying to the detriment of the players who would be involved in all these unnecessary competitions. I don't see the point in this Nation's League just as I don't see the sense in the final Argentina and Italy played.

I read Kevin De Bruyne's interview and he echoed the same sentiment by saying he isn't excited about the Nation's League tournament. He said he hasn't had a decent vacation in over 8 years. How do you expect the players not to burn out and react badly? I know this is their job and it comes with the territory but come on, travelling up and down every time when it could have been avoided doesn't count to me as common sense.

The World Cup that is coming too, we all know it's all about the money which was why they awarded it to Dubai. Now, we won't have the World Cup in June and it would be around September which would affect the various leagues all over the world. They would change the calendar of most leagues that resumes in August just because they are more concerned about the money they would realize. It's inhumane and inconsiderate, to say the least. Would leagues start and then stop for the players to go for World Cup or would they simply put it on hold and start respective leagues all over the world after the World Cup?

It doesn't make sense to me and this is my personal opinion. It's a waste of time and effort all for making more money for their greedy selves. I am not even watching the tournament. I lost interest in it. I watched the first edition that Portugal won and even the second but I have zero interest in this one because the welfare of these players is at risk just because of more money. How terrible can things get in football these days?

Cheers.

I like the tournament and I like the idea of the tournament but... I agree with you. Knowing that next season will start early because of the World Cup moving to winter, I thought that the players would get a well deserved break and then... 2 International matches meaning that the players have even more football to play before a holiday.

I watched the Hungary v. England match last night and it was awful. Watching England normally is awful but everybody looked exhausted. It was hot, there was no energy and the game wasn't worth watching. It probably wasn't worth playing either.

But... it's not just UEFA and FIFA who need to take responsibility. If clubs aren't willing to rest and rotate their players then we can't expect international teams to.

I wonder how they'll squeeze another World Cup in - there just aren't enough days in the year for so many tournaments.

Exactly. We don't have enough time and this is bound to take effect on the players. I can understand why some clubs might not rotate because of funds and they pay these players better. They made a career out of these players. I know they are bound to their nations which is fair but FIFA and UEFA should be more kind to them and let them avoid unnecessary competitions. I know they want to stay more relevant in the scheme of things and not allow their competition to be kicked to the back of things due to club footballs but like you rightly said, those terrible performances defeated the whole purpose of things.

Well what can we say buddy. Money does make the world revolve.

The problem with these new tournaments is that they never seem to introduce theme early enough. Its like someone sits somewhere and out of no where decides that these games should be played.

I didn't like the idea of the finalisma that was played recently as I don't understand why it was even set up.

The system of the world cup being played every 4 years to me is better as it creates enthusiasm because many of us will be waiting for it eagerly. But when it is moved to every 2 years it will feel like any other tournament and I don't think that zeal will be around for it anymore.

Exactly. I don't understand that final and the idea behind the 2 years for World Cup would defeat the whole purpose of things. It's pointless.
