Day laborers, rickshaw-van drivers, bus drivers, driver's assistants, domestic workers all low-income people are in dire straits to procure food on a daily basis. Help is not enough. In another report published in Kaler Kantho, it is said that unemployed domestic workers are floating people looking for help. About five lakh domestic workers do not have jobs. The only way out of this situation is to provide them with cash and food aid. There are allegations that many day laborers and domestic workers in the capital are not getting help as they are not voters here.
