Stray Kids has just released their newest mini album, ODDINARY. However, one of the members, Changbin, suddenly tested positive for COVID-19.
The news was delivered directly by JYP Entertainment as management. Changbin tested positive for COVID-19 while undergoing a self-test after appearing on the Music Bank event as a series of promotions for the release of a new album.
"Changbin underwent an independent test before participating in the KBS Music Bank filming program on the morning of March 18. He underwent activities after being tested negative," said JYP Entertainment.
"Changbin then underwent another self-test before carrying out activities during the day and tested positive for COVID-19. He then underwent an antigen test and tested positive," he continued.
Management confirmed that Changbin had undergone two vaccinations so he did not feel any symptoms. The seven other Stray Kids members also underwent rapid tests and were declared negative.
"Changbin has undergone two COVID-19 vaccinations. He doesn't show any symptoms at all. Following the advice from the medical side, he is currently undergoing self-quarantine separately from other Stray Kids members," explained JYP Entertainment.
"The seven Stray Kids members apart from Changbin got a negative test result after undergoing rapid antigen. All members will continue to have their health checked while continuing to adhere to health protocols. The seven members will undergo temporary self-quarantine," he added.
So, Stray Kids had to cancel all scheduled appearances on music shows this week. JYP Entertainment will release a further statement regarding the continuation of the promotion schedule.
"We once again apologize for worrying fans who have supported Stray Kids and all related parties. We prioritize the health of our artists, so we will do our best to help Changbin recover ," he concluded.
Stray Kids comeback by releasing ODDINARY on Friday (18/3). MANIAC was chosen as the main song to be promoted.
