Rice is a staple food for Asian people, especially Indonesia. Paddy is the origin of rice which produces the rice that we usually eat in everyday life. Indonesia has a dream that by 2045 it can become the world's rice granary. Supported by the abundance of natural resources in Indonesia.

So Indonesia began to dream of becoming a rice granary in Asia and the world. Of course, to achieve maximum goals, maximum human resources are also needed. So this is where the role of parents and young people is needed to work together using their respective skills in their fields so that the available natural resources can be utilized optimally.

Moreover, with the increasing demand in the food sector, it must be balanced with the large number of harvests, in this case what we will discuss is rice. With the high level of consumption of rice by the Indonesian people, it is hoped that more and more farmers will develop the cultivation of this rice plant. Following are the steps to plant good and profitable badi.

Prepare the land

Land is one of the most important components if you want to grow crops. Provide fertile empty land that has been cleared of disturbing wild grass and weeds.

To increase soil fertility when planted. The soil is irrigated with water until it is loose and soft, then plowed using a tractor, then flooded with water again to a height of 5-10 cm, and let the water stagnate in the planting medium for 2 weeks so that the poison can be neutralized by the water.

Nursery

After preparing the land, spread good rice seeds that have gone through the testing stage to determine their quality, soak them for 2 days until they germinate. Fertilize the nursery area with urea and tsp fertilizer, 10 grams each for each semester of land.

Planting

After 12 to 14 days the seeds are ready to plant. After that, move the seeds from the seedling area to the planting area. The transfer must be done carefully in a hole measuring approximately 26x26. Especially for rice plants, you can put two seeds in one hole at once. Insert the rice roots in an L shape and to a depth of 1-15 cm.

Maintenance

When caring for it, you need to be more careful because if you are careless then the harvest results will be less than satisfactory. The first is to do weeding every two weeks. Second, do reasonable irrigation so that there is no excess or deficiency. Lastly, fertilize after 7-15 days using urea and TSP fertilizer at 100:50 per hectare. Fertilization is carried out after 25-30 days with urea and phonska fertilizer at 50:100 per hectare.

Pest and disease control

Pests in rice fields usually include grasshoppers, grasshoppers, planthoppers and mice. To control pests, pesticides can be used, but it is better not to if there are still natural predators for these pests. If the natural predators of these pests start to bother you, destroy them and switch to organic pesticides.

Harvesting

If the rice starts to turn yellow and starts to bend then that's when the harvest is ready to start. Don't be late if there are already these signs because if you are late then the rice will become brittle and collapse in vain.

That's how to plant rice, if you do it, the results will definitely be satisfying and profitable. For this reason, plant rice properly. Hopefully many young people will start to care about the agricultural sector and many will start to love agriculture after reading this.
