United States President Donald Trump holds China responsible for the spread of the COVID-19 that has killed more than 4,56,000 people globally and 1,22,000 in the USA, his spokesperson has said.

President Donald Trump points out that China is responsible for the virus and in the process, standing up for the United States troops who are being blamed continuously by China in a campaign of misinformation, Kayleigh McEnany, White House press secretary told reporters at a news conference on Monday.
McEnany was responding to a series of questions on the use of term Kung flu by President Donald Trump during his Tulsa rally last week.
Asked why President Trump used the racist term, she said, Mr President doesn's use racist phrases. What Mr President does do is point to the fact that the origin of the Coronavirus is China.
It's a fair thing to point out as China tries to ridiculously rewrite history, ridiculously blame the COVID-19 on American soldiers. This is what China is doing. And Mr President is saying, No, China, I will label the Coronavirus for its place of origin, she said.
Using such a term, McEnany asserted is not about Asian-Americans but Donald Trump linking the virus to its place of origin that is China.
It is very important that we totally protect our Asian-American community in the United States and all over the world. They're good people, and the spreading of the deadly virus is not their fault anyway, shape or form. They're working closely with us to get rid of the deadly virus. We will prevail together. It is very important, McEnany said, quoting Mr Trump.
So it is not a discussion about Asian-Americans, who President Donald Trump prizes and values as citizens of this great country; it is an indictment of China for letting Coronavirus get here, McEnany said.
