January 2023: Sport betting recap!

It could have been worse, it could have been better. But pretty happy with how I did end the month. There is one day left, but no games of my interest, so I will call it a month.

Overall, I did loose a little bit less than 2 units, which does look like a horrible month. But we do have to place this in perspective. I did start the month with 15 loosing bets in a row. So coming back from a loss of 15 units, to merely 2 isn't bad at all.

Stats

A statistic which isn't visible in this table, is that 15 loosing bets, did fail on one game within the ticket. If only 1 of those would have been winner, I would have ended up the month in green. But sports betting is full of woulds/coulds/musts, but only the end result does count!

Too bad, this does mean that I do have back-to-back red months. On the positive side, I am overall still in the green, around 10 units. Which isn't bad at all after 97 bets.

I did play 32 tickets, which is average. The hit rate however with only 15.63% is way too low. With the odds, I am playing I do need a hit rate of 20%.
Don't know if it does have anything to do with it, probably it will, but the average odds of the month were the highest ever. The average odds were 6.335, 3% higher than the all time average odds.

The biggest ticket I won had odds of 10.55, which did turn things around. The lowest winning odds were only 2.707 (a 2 fold parlay).
The biggest loosing ticket had odds of 11.983 and is one of tickets were only one game was wrong.

Next month, we will have lots of European midweek football weeks. These can be dangerous. So, I will have to be careful with those evenings. But very happy for instance, that I didn't place any bets yesterday. There just wasn't enough time to do some proper preparation and in that case it probably best is to skip the day.

Let's see if I can turn the things around and make February a green month.

All bets are placed using this bookie!

Disclaimer

It is always a good idea to do your own research and to carefully consider the risks and potential returns before placing any bets. I am not a professional punter, for me it is just a hobby. I do place most of my bets in advance and do keep records of all my bets, but it is not encouraged to follow my bets blindly!

Cheers,
Peter
