তুলসী গাছ আমাদের সকলের পরিচিত একটি গাছ। তুলসী গাছের ঔষধি গুন এর কোন তুলনা নেই।এটি নানা রকম রোগের প্রতিষেধক হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয় আমাদের দেশে গ্রাম অঞ্চলে বিশেষ করে।

তুলসী গাছ আমাদের দেশে হিন্দু পরিবারে বেশি দেখা যায়। তুলসী গাছ কে হিন্দুরা পবিত্র গাছ হিসেবে তারা পূজা করে। এটি আমাদের দেশে বহুল ব্যবহৃত একটি গাছ।

তুলসী গাছ ঘনঘন পাতা ও ডালপালায় পুরা গাছ ছেয়ে থাকে। এই গাছটি মূলত 3 থেকে 4 ফিট উঁচু হয়। তুলসী গাছে ফুল ফোটে। তবে এর পাতা ফুল ও ফলের একটি ঝাঁঝালো গন্ধ আছে।

আমাদের দেশে বিশেষ করে গ্রামাঞ্চলে সর্দি কাশি হলে বা ঠান্ডা লাগলে তুলসির পাতা বেটে রস করে পরপর দুই তিন দিন খেলে রোগ থেকে নিরাময় লাভ করা যায়।

যেসব মানুষের কৃমি ও বায়ুনাশক এর সমস্যা তারা তুলসী গাছের রস পরপর তিনদিন খেলে তারা এই রোগ থেকে মুক্তি পাবে ইনশাল্লাহ।

বিশেষ করে এই গাছের ব্যবহার অংশ হলো এর পাতা রস এবং বীজ। এগুলো আমাদের দেশে ঔষধি কাজে খুবই ব্যবহার করা হয়।

তুলসী গাছ এখন আমাদের দেশে বাণিজ্যিকভাবে বচাষ করা হয়। যেহেতু এটি ঔষধি কাজে ব্যবহার করা হয় তাই এটি চাহিদাও অনেক বেশি আমাদের দেশে।

আমাদের দেশে এই গাছটি বহুল ব্যবহৃত। কারণ আমাদের সুস্থ থাকার জন্য তুলসী গাছের বিকল্প কিছু নাই। তাই সকলের বাড়িতে বা ছাদের আঙিনায় আমরা একটি করে হলেও তুলসী গাছ লাগাব।
