Today I am going to share with you about a traditional ritual in Sri Lanka. It is true to say that it is a special part of a child's life.
That is the ritual of initiating education.

We 've seen a Sri Lankan baby's first time feeding ceremony, a first time writing ceremony.So Those special moments of the child are the most memorable experience for the parents.
This is a tradition that has been going on in Sri Lanka since ancient times and this is considered as a good thing in the life of a child.

Really good education, good habits and attitudes in human life Inevitably affects.
So if we want to live our lives well, we must have a good education .So the main purpose here is to get a good start.

This ritual is usually performed after the age of 02 years and before the age of 03 years.For the first time in the life of a child, writing is done by a family educated person or by a temple priest, but today it is mostly done by the child's mother or father.

I have presented to you about these customs to give a rough idea to someone who does not know about it.I took the first step towards this education for my beloved daughter recently so I thought of sharing that happy moment with you too.

The first thing we did was to use a good day and auspicious time for this.
Most of the time, children dress in traditional Sri Lankan costumes such as lamasari or Sinhala national costumes.

The day before, my father-in-law had brought lotus flowers, traditional srilankan sweets and fruits.
Meanwhile, the daughter was also very enthusiastic and curious about this.
The next day we made milk rice and prepared the place for the ritual.

On one side there was a statue of the Buddha and on the other side there was a gods statues of the presiding deity for education.

At the auspicious time of 6.30 am, the first letter writing ceremony was performed with the daughter engaging in religious rites.
Actually my husband was not able to attend this event because he was abroad.So the husband and I were sad but it faded because of the daughter's happy smile.

actually as a mother, I can not describe the joy I feel when my daughter successfully passes her millstone one by one. I know that every parent wants to see their children to be happy and healthy.

So, like every parent, we hope to give her great strength to take the first steps she took in her education to a successful destination. And we wholeheartedly wish her a bright future.
