I'm analyzing the PC version of Death Stranding. Kojima Productions has done a fantastic job of meeting the demands of the community.
Death Stranding on PC has become a kind of trial balloon. With the Horizon Zero Dawn, launch date confirmed on the same platform, the arrival of Kojima Productions' work becomes the first demonstration of the Decima Engine's muscle away from the PlayStation 4 ecosystem.

The journey through the United States with an Icelandic flavor

Without doing anything wrong, Death Stranding is perhaps guilty of wanting to be longer than it should be, not because of its history but because of the limitations of its setting and gameplay, because of wanting to offer a free and huge world without having enough elements with which to feed that particular experience.

Defects that go through an atypical pace at the average within the genre, or a range of more elaborate mechanics. Neither the stealth nor the action is equal to what we've played over the last seven years of the generation, especially the matches against the bosses. What's special about Death Stranding is that it still manages to thrill the player with elements outside that medium. "If you put the focus on the many virtues he treasures, you will enjoy a great experience, a work from the heart that will move many and leave an indelible memory," he concluded.

At times, Death Stranding becomes a factory of the most unpredictable memories. Take a path along a mountain and suddenly the silence comes to let you be carried away by Low Roar's creations. From the graphic settings to its real-time performance, the title is well suited to the demands of such a diverse community. No matter what your computer (unless you don't meet the recommended minimums) or monitor you have, Death Stranding makes sure it fits in with what you have on hand.

It's worth noting the importance of compatibility with more enthusiastic teams. Natively you can play with your ultra-panoramic monitor or with several monitors at once. Whether you have Nvidia or AMD graphics, it has two of the most important technologies of both companies. In our impressions, I already gave you details of the use of DLSS 2.0 on RTX GPUs. In addition, you can use FidelityFX adaptive contrast on both manufacturers regardless of whether it's an AMD technology.

A port that meets the demands of the PC market

Even though they are the same game, they have a small peculiarity. The Steam version includes a chain of missions related to two of the most famous brands of Valve. You can obtain items from Half-Life and Portal, including cosmetics and gadgets that can be used in the adventure. We can't give specific details on how and when, except that you will receive the missions in your personal mailbox along with the characteristic Lambda symbol. They don't offer much change, but at least they serve as a quest chain full of winks to your followers.

Also included from day one is the photo mode, which landed months ago on the PS4 version via a patch. I've been surprised at how addictive it is to use it. At the touch of a button, you automatically enter the editing tools, designed to allow any player without photographic knowledge to make their deluxe prints. Beyond the capturability of the environment, perhaps the greatest appeal of this feature is the ability to change Sam's and BB's stance no matter what action they're performing. This opens a window of possibilities to create even more spectacular moments.

It features native support for the Xbox One controller and Dualshock 4. As the hours go by, controlling it with a keyboard and mouse is a somewhat artificial way to understand Sam's movement; it doesn't replace what you get with a traditional controller. The way you control the inertia in real time alone means that some of the keys can't move what the stick is offering with the same precision. It is a game designed by and for the controller, and although you can play it without it, the whole experience is shaped using a traditional peripheral.
