Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered will limit your multiplayer to online mode
Square Enix has long been a firm believer in bringing its franchises to the next generation through ports, remasters, and remakes. So much so that now one of their most popular Gamecube titles will see the light again this year. It is the remastered version of 'Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles', considered one of the jewels of the Nintendo system.
Even so, while the release date of the title is getting closer and closer (it will arrive next August 27th), it seems that the company is reluctant to reveal much information about the title and its peculiarities. So we learned today, just one month before its release, that the game would not have a multiplayer mode to be played locally.
Change of generation, change of mechanics
The fact is that the home game of the title (at a time when there was no other possibility) was one of its great advantages. However, its developers warn us that certain technical complications have not been able to make this advantage possible, so we can only enjoy the multiplayer mode online.
Players of the original artwork will know that the multiplayer capability of the title was based solely on the connection to the GameBoy Advance for its operation. A fact that, apparently, would have made it difficult to implement it in its version for Nintendo Switch. Something that is even more complicated if we consider the cross-play functions of the title, which will arrive in PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Android and iOS mobile devices, so the decision of its developers is understood as something logical.
