2019 was a good year for the video game industry, it was loaded with great productions such as Resident Evil 2 Remake or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Last year, although it also had its shortcomings, the great titles that you can find are many and very varied among them. So, after a bit of research and based on my experience, here I bring you a list based on my opinion, with only four of the best games of 2019.
Death Stranding is the return of the great Hideo Kojima to the video game industry, his latest production (so far) with a big budget. It is a totally different experience from any other title in 2019, since it is one of those few video games that try to invent a new genre. Walking and delivering packages are the main actions. The Japanese creative manages to make fun mechanics that, at first hand, are tedious and heavy. In addition, Death Stranding has some of the most interesting characters of 2019, played by famous people and from the world of cinema such as Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro.
Nintendo had a 2019 full of good deliveries for the Nintendo Switch, but Luigi's Mansion 3 shines among them. Once again, Luigi will have to pluck up the courage to save his friends in this adventure for all audiences set in a hotel in the that each plant offers a new and imaginative world. His artistic design is on another level, but he also stands out for how he introduces humor and comedy in an intelligent and endearing way.
In an age when popular culture frequently turns to games of yesteryear, it might seem like this Resident Evil 2 Remake is not just that, but actually much more. This great return of the game published more than twenty years ago for the first PlayStation achieves a perfect balance between respect for what made the original title great, its visual and sound presentation. Resident Evil 2 Remake manages to be scary thanks to recreation and visual representation of its world and its creatures. Conveying that feeling of overwhelm and constant panic through its game mechanics, makes it one of the most compelling titles of the generation. But we must not forget what terrifies more than anything, the sound of footsteps behind us.
This 2019 has been the year of the return of great people of renown in the video game industry. The director of the Souls saga, Hidetaka Miyazaki, developed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the next link in the evolutionary chain of the genre "SoulsBorne". Set in feudal Japan, Sekiro places us in the shoes of a shinobi who must regain his honor. But the central axis of the game is the gameplay. From Software has created a very complex and successful sword combat system. Skill and tempo is so important that it could even be considered a rhythm game. It could also be considered as one of the most difficult in the Souls saga, since the simple fact of dying takes away a piece of history, for which dying is not an option.
Well that was my opinion, if you think that other games should be in those positions, leave your opinion in the comments.
good choices. I didn't even know they were still making those Luigi Mansion games anymore. The last one I played was on a Gamecube in the 90's!
