Crysis is widely recognized in the PC community for being one of the games that demanded the most at the time. To the surprise of the majority, the game had a remastering, and it has a version for Nintendo Switch that retains most of its most interesting aspects.
Crysis was one of the games with the best graphics when it came out in 2007. Of course it was a good game, but mainly it gained fame for its technical section, which served to prove the value of a PC for a long time. Therefore, to think that such a demanding game from that time has a version for the Nintendo console in itself is surprising. And the positive side is that it is a very good port.
Crysis Remastered for Switch has numerous visual and even playable cutouts, such as its control and also the AI. However, it still has characteristics such as the destruction of the environment and the use of global lighting that was not on PC. In the end, the conclusion would be that it is a version of the game that can be played very well, and that it is a good opportunity for those who want to play it on a portable console.
Crysis Remastered on Nintendo Switch shows its graphics and technical details on video. Crysis, beyond its impressive visual section, presents very interesting characteristics too, and one of them is that although the mission tells you what the destination is, you are the one who decides how to carry it out, whether stealthily or with action.
To do this, the game puts at your disposal various skills related to your nanosuit. There are two essentials: camouflage and armor. And depending on the situation, you will be able to confront the challenges the way you want with the very good amplitude of the scenarios. Despite the fact that the game is linear, except that it has slightly open areas, you can still get in without much scandal by attacking melee and advancing.
In other words, it's fun, and that is to say a lot for how hackneyed the genre is already, and since we are talking about a shooter from more than a decade ago. The adrenaline sensation is surprising, and although the controls are somewhat strange, it does not intervene in the experience, although it is more advisable to play it with the pro control of the console.
Another important aspect is that the game supports gyroscopic control, and although it is an interesting implementation, it loses a bit of sense because its sensitivity cannot be adjusted. Games like Splatoon 2 have shown us how good this feature can be, but that's not the case with Crysis Remastered. You can get used to it, but something a little more precise was expected, although luckily there is an option to help you aim.
Speaking of the technical, the game runs in dock mode at 900-540p, and between 720-400p in portable mode, and its visual aspect is more than decent, and it is even a little sharper than the port we saw from The Witcher 3. Of course, the textures are not at the level of the PC game, since they lose detail, but as compensation we have good lighting and colors. The scenes look very vivid, thanks to the global lighting of the game, which was not in its original version. Thanks to it, the objects are better represented and the shadows more marked, with a lot of contrast. Each and every one of the elements loses graphic quality, but it compensates it with a good use of lighting so that everything looks competently.
All this speaks of how well they did the port, since it shows that they did not rush it. Despite the obvious reductions, the game maintains the experience and appearance of the PC game, such as when you destroy trees or the movement of grass. Even the effects of water are very well achieved, to the point of not envying the PC version, which in itself is an achievement.
Despite everything, it has a very good balance, years ago when the Nintendo Switch came out not many would have believed that this game would see the light someday on the console. Something tells me that if the will exists, even the most incredible things can come true, and this is what the studio in charge achieved with this port. If you like shooters, this is one of the highly recommended genre, apart from being a good option, because watching this game on a portable console is not an everyday thing.
