Acting (Pj) Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin, SH MM, opened the rice harvest movement in the rain-fed rice field area, Thursday (14/10/2024) morning, in Gampong Pante Baro Kumbang, Peusangan Siblah Krueng District.
The activity was attended by the Chief of Police AKBP Jatmiko, SH MH, expert staff, and the Head of the Aceh Agriculture and Plantation Service (Distanbun), Ir Cut Huzaimah, MP, Kadistanbun Bireuen, Mulyadi, SE MM, Sub-district Head, village officials, extension workers and farmers.
Kadistanbun Bireuen, Mulyadi, among others, said that previously farmers here relied on one old water pump unit, some time ago they had been assisted by a 6-inch water pump to supply water to the rice fields sourced from a river hundreds of meters from the rice fields.
Today, the rice harvest in Gampong Pante Baro Kumbang today reached 10 tons per hectare. "I hope that after a week it is ready to harvest, farmers will immediately cultivate the land again to plant rice," said Mulyadi.
It was also said that the increase in rice harvest was inseparable from the cooperation between the Aceh Agriculture and Agriculture Agency and Bireuen Agriculture and extension workers. "Now, from the beginning of land cultivation to harvest, every two months the extension workers make a presentation to the Agriculture and Agriculture Agency regarding the development of rice and rice fields," he explained.
Head of the Aceh Agriculture and Agriculture Agency, Ir Cut Huzaimah on that occasion, among other things, said that today's harvest movement is a real form of our hard work in an effort to produce food, especially rice.
"We appreciate the farmer groups who have done extraordinary things in supporting production, I hope that the positive trend of Bireuen Regency in maintaining food will be even better and continue to be sustainable," hoped the Head of the Aceh Agriculture and Agriculture Agency.
Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin, SH MM expressed his gratitude to the Aceh Government through the Distanbun for paying attention and providing assistance in the form of agricultural infrastructure, as well as counseling to farmers so that today farmers have succeeded and can harvest so that people earn income to meet their living needs, for that they should be grateful.
According to him, the Central Government and Aceh Province have given great benefits, as well as the attention of the Bireuen Regency Government and agricultural extension workers in an effort to increase rice planting and production by farmers in Bireuen Regency, said the Acting Regent.

Meanwhile, Keuchik (Village Head) of Pante Baro Kumbang, Marwan, among others, said that the first rice harvest in the village with a population of 1,040 people, the village area is around 200 hectares.
