Bireuen Regency is an area prone to disasters such as floods, landslides, tornadoes, sea accidents and a number of other disasters. Therefore, good coordination and cooperation from all elements is very necessary to create a resilient society in facing natural disasters.
This was said by the Bireuen Police Chief, AKBP Jatmiko, S. H., M. in his direction when leading the Troop Readiness Call for the Prevention and Management of Natural Disasters, Thursday (16/5/2024) at the local Police Headquarters yard.
AKPB Jatmiko stated that disaster management officers need to always provide education about disaster management to the community.
"This rally aims to check the readiness of personnel and equipment and gather the strength of TNI/Polri personnel, BPBD, Transportation Service, Satpol PP, PMI and other related agencies who are participating in disaster management efforts," he said.
He asked the police chief to collect data on villages that are prone to flooding, and invite all levels of society to make efforts to prevent natural disasters, such as working together to clean the environment and public facilities.
On that occasion, the Police Chief gave awards to the best Bhabinkantimas, as well as the community for their role in helping the police.
At the rally, a fire extinguishing simulation was also carried out using a fire extinguisher guided by Bireuen Fire Department (Damkar) officers.
Present at the rally were the Bireuen Regional Secretary, Ir Ibrahim Ahmad M.Si as well as elements of the Bireuen Forkopimda and other guests.
