Young artis who are members of the Meurah Silue Cultural Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM) at Malikussaleh University, have experienced golden times when they were active in various activities both at the local and national levels. They participate in and perform in various artistic celebrations.

The appearance of UKM Meurah Silue students often discourages other participants because they are already champions. They can excel in activities such as the Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida) because of the serious attention from the leadership. "Not only in Aceh, in various other provinces we often perform," said Harry Koko Priutama, an alumni of the Faculty of Law who is active in the UKM.

And the person behind the achievements of UKM Meurah Silue is Eny Dameria MH, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and the wife of the then rector, Prof. A Hadi Arifin. "You could say, of the many SMEs, Meurah Silue is one of the golden children. We often get prizes every time we appear. Mother is very generous,” added Koko.

The same thing was conveyed by a number of alumni who had joined the SB Meurah Silue UKM. Hence, they were so shocked when they received the news that Eny Dameria had passed away on May 28, 2023.

People who have not had contact with Eny for a long time do not know that in recent years her health has declined due to a history of heart disease, as revealed by Prof. A. Hadi Arifin. "So far, he has been hospitalized several times," he said when contacted via Whatapps, Tuesday (15/8/2023).

Prof. Hadi and his family let Mother Eny—as she is affectionately known—go to the Creator. He also apologized to all parties for the mistakes the deceased had made, whether intentionally or not. This was also conveyed at the funeral of the deceased in Sawang, North Aceh.

Prof Hadi received a lot of moral support from Eny, especially when he was Chancellor of Malikussaleh University. For him, Eny is not only a wife, but also an adviser as well as a discussion partner in carrying out her mandate as a chancellor. There are Eny's thoughts and actions behind the achievements of Malikussaleh University after it became a state campus in 2001.

In the eyes of Dr. Elidar Sari, Eny is not only a teaching partner at the Faculty of Law, but also like a sister to herself. After knowing each other in 1999 and then becoming close friends, Elidar called him “My brother”. They are often together in various activities, both on campus and off campus.

When the storms hit each other's lives, Elidar and Eny shared and strengthened each other. Likewise when they get good news. “An unforgettable moment was when we informed each other about our pregnancy. Sis Eny is good at cooking and often gives food and gifts,” recalls Elidar about Eny's generous figure.

There was something that Elidar regretted during his friendship with Eny, both regarding official and personal matters. One of them was having a friendly chat with Eny at the Bukit Indah Campus, Lhokseumawe. At that time, it occurred to Elidar to apologize for his mistakes towards Eny.

“This thought probably arose because I saw Sis Eny who had difficulty walking and looked tired, apart from the fact that she often went for treatment recently. But somehow the word sorry was not spoken. Two days later, I received news that Kak Eny had died,” said Elidar with tears in his eyes.

He dismissed his own hunch because he hoped for Eny's recovery. So when he got the news of Eny's death, he was so shocked and remembered their last meeting. "But Kak Eny also knows, we love each other," said Elidar.

Memories of Mother Eny also cannot be forgotten by Teuku Muzaffarsyah, MAP, lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. For him, Eny is like her own mother because she lived at Prof Hadi's house when she recently became a lecturer at Malikussaleh University, from 2007 until she married in 2018.

A week before Eny died, Teuku Muzaffarsyah admitted that he met at the Bukit Indah Campus and asked each other how they were doing. Then they discussed articles for filling in Lecturer Workload (BKD).

Some of the important events that were experienced by Teuku Muzaffarsyah, Eny was in it, such as when she married in 2018. “Eny's mother was one of the witnesses to the marriage and became my advisor before marriage. Mother Eny was also a motivator when I was building a career as a lecturer. You are a caring, loving and firm person. Everyone who has ever been close to Mother must have felt her kindness," said Teuku Muzaffarsyah, who is familiarly called Popon.

The Chancellor of Malikussaleh University, Prof. Dr. Herman Fithra Asean Eng, expressed his deep sorrow for Eny Dameria's passing. Another of Malikussaleh University's best lecturers is gone forever. "The knowledge that the deceased gave to students, hopefully becomes alms that continue to provide benefits," said the Chancellor.[]

Dosen Hukum yang peduli Seni itu pun Berpulang: In Memoriam Eny Dameria

SENIMAN muda yang tergabung dalam Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Seni Budaya Meurah Silue Universitas Malikussaleh, pernah merasakan masa-masa emas ketika mereka aktif di berbagai kegiatan baik di tingkat lokal maupun nasional. Mereka mengikuti dan berpretasi dalam berbagai hajatan seni.

Penampilan mahasiswa UKM Meurah Silue sering bikin ciut peserta lain karena sudah langganan juara. Mereka bisa berprestasi di kegiatan seperti Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Daerah (Peksimida) karena adanya perhatian serius dari pimpinan. “Bukan hanya di Aceh, di berbagai provinsi lain pun kami sering tampil,” ungkap Harry Koko Priutama, alumni Fakutas Hukum yang aktif di UKM tersebut.

Dan orang di balik prestasi UKM Meurah Silue adalah Eny Dameria MH, dosen Fakultas Hukum sekaligus istri dari rektor tatkala itu, Prof A Hadi Arifin. “Bisa dibilang, dari sekian banyak UKM, Meurah Silue termasuk anak emas. Kami sering mendapat hadiah setiap tampil. Bunda sangat murah hati,” tambah Koko.

Hal senada disampaikan sejumlah alumni yang pernah tergabung dalam UKM SB Meurah Silue. Makanya, mereka begitu terkejut ketika mendapat kabar Eny Dameria meninggal dunia pada 28 Mei 2023.
Innalillahiwainnailaihirajiun. Dosen hukum yang peduli seni dan murah hati itu pun berpulang setelah sempat dirawat di rumah sakit TNI-AD Lhokseumawe.

Orang-orang yang sudah lama tak kontak dengan Eny tidak tahu beberapa tahun belakangan ini kesehatannya menurun karena ada riwayat sakit jantung, sebagaimana diungkapkan Prof A. Hadi Arifin. “Selama ini sudah beberapa kali masuk rumah sakit,” katanya ketika dihubungi via Whatapps, Selasa (15/8/2023).

Prof Hadi sekeluarga melepaskan kepergian Bunda Eny—begitu ia akrab disapa—menghadap Sang Khalik. Ia juga meminta maaf kepada semua pihak atas kesalahan yang pernah dilakukan almarhumah, baik sengaja maupun tidak. Hal itu juga pernah disampaikan ketika pemakaman almarhumah di Sawang, Aceh Utara.

Prof Hadi banyak mendapatkan dukungan moril dari Eny, terutama ketika menjabat Rektor Universitas Malikussaleh. Baginya, Eny bukan semata istri, tetapi juga penasihat sekaligus teman diskusi dalam menjalankan amanah sebagai rektor. Ada pemikiran dan tindakan Eny di balik capaian Universitas Malikussaleh setelah menjadi kampus negeri pada 2001.

Di mata Dr Elidar Sari, Eny bukan semata kawan mengajar di Fakultas Hukum, tetapi juga sudah seperti kakak sendiri. Setelah saling kenal pada 1999 dan kemudian menjadi akrab, Elidar memanggilnya “Kakakku”. Mereka sering bersama dalam berbagai kegiatan, baik di kampus maupun luar kampus.

Ketika badai menghantam kehidupan masing-masing, Elidar dan Eny saling berbagi dan menguatkan. Begitu juga ketika mereka mendapatkan kabar gembira. “Momen yang tak terlupakan adalah kami saling mengabarkan kehamilan. Kak Eny pinter memasak dan sering memberikan makanan serta hadiah,” kenang Elidar tentang sosok Eny yang murah hati.

Ada yang disesali Elidar selama persahabatannya dengan Eny, baik menyangkut dinas maupun persoalan pribadi. Salah satu adalah ketika mengobrol akrab dengan Eny di Kampus Bukit Indah, Lhokseumawe. Saat itu, terbersit dalam hati Elidar untuk meminta maaf atas kesalahan-kesalahannya terhadap Eny.

“Pikiran ini mungkin muncul karena melihat Kak Eny yang susah berjalan dan terlihat capek, selain karena belakangan sering berobat. Tapi entah kenapa tak terucapkan kata maaf itu. Dua hari kemudian, saya dapat kabar Kak Eny sudah meninggal,” ungkap Elidar dengan mata berkaca-kaca.

Ia menepis firasatnya sendiri karena berharap kesembuhan bagi Eny. Makanya ketika mendapatkan kabar meninggalnya Eny, ia begitu syok dan mengingat pertemuan terakhir mereka. “Tapi Kak Eny pun tahu, kami itu saling menyayangi,” ujar Elidar.

Kenangan tentang Bunda Eny juga tak bisa dilupakan Teuku Muzaffarsyah, MAP, dosen Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik. Baginya, Eny tak ubahnya sendiri ibu sendiri karena ia pernah tinggal di rumah Prof Hadi ketika baru-baru menjadi dosen di Universitas Malikussaleh, sejak 2007 sampai menikah pada 2018 lalu.

Seminggu sebelum Eny berpulang, Teuku Muzaffarsyah mengaku berjumpa di Kampus Bukit Indah dan saling menanyakan kabar. Kemudian mereka membahas artikel untuk pengisian Beban Kerja Dosen (BKD).

Beberapa peristiwa penting yang dialami Teuku Muzaffarsyah, ada Eny di dalamnya, seperti ketika menikah pada 2018. “Bunda Eny menjadi salah satu saksi nikah dan menjadi penasihat saya sebelum menikah. Bunda Eny juga menjadi motivator ketika saya membangun karier sebagi dosen. Bunda orang yang perhatian, penuh kasih sayang sekaligus tegas. Semua orang yang pernah akrab dengan Bunda, pasti merasakan kebaikan hati beliau,” tutur Teuku Muzaffarsyah yang akrab disapa Popon.

Rektor Universitas Malikussaleh, Prof Dr Herman Fithra Asean Eng, mengungkapkan duka mendalam atas berpulangnya Eny Dameria. Satu lagi dosen terbaik Universitas Malikussaleh pergi untuk selama-selama. “Ilmu yang diberikan almarhum kepada mahasiswa, semoga menjadi sedekah yang terus memberikan manfaat,” kata Rektor.[@ayijufridar]
