First and Foremost, I would like to sincerely thank our neighbors who are being touched by God to share what he has and to give a smile to everyone who is truly in need. It really is a blessing to everyone to be handed with groceries that can last for a week. We can save up our budget or buy it with something else, especially medicines.
Who would have imagined that our neighbors will be knocking on our doors steps to hand us their groceries that they buy. I was shocked when I opened the door and saw them handling food in our community. They say that this is how they show their love to us and by sharing the foods they are hoping that it could lead to the community to do the same.
They also asked us if we are willing to give our hands to their work since they are short of people to do the door to door. Since I don’t have something to do today then why not go with them and help them to distribute the goods that they prepared.
We arrived at their garage and I saw a lot of plastic bags that had groceries inside that needed to be distributed. We unload the goods carefully since a little bit of carelessness will result in the goods to be ruined. We bring it to their vans so that we can start distributing it to our neighbors and bring some happiness to them like what I’m feeling when they give me the goods.
We knocked on each of our neighbors' houses and handed them the goods. They are hesitant at first because they thought we would sell it to them but the moment we say that it’s free they receive it and thank us. You can see on their faces how much the goods mean to them. I’m happy that I made someone smile.
It was amazing that this kind of person still exists in this world, praying for them to be blessed and have a healthy body so that they can continue what they are doing to the community. Hope it encourages more people to do the same and join hands together to make our community better.
NOTE: I asked his family if I could take a picture with everyone but they declined because he likes to be anonymous and not brag about things his family shares. That's why I respect his decision. He also mentioned that sharing to everyone in need makes him happy and he added that hopefully someday when his family needs our help we could give a helping hand.
