Steemit team that I respect,

On this occasion my best friend and I came to register for the Steemit Learning Challenge for Season 23. We have both come to a conclusion and registered again with the same theme as before, namely handicrafts from coconut leaves or the like. Here is our profile and history of experience on Steemit:

My name is Mudawali and I often name my social media account @walictd, I come from Indonesia. I joined Steemit since 2018, at that time I didn't understand anything about steemit and only got to know from seniors who were close to me in 2021, even now I often meet with SR.

Here's my experience surviving on Steemit:

  • Admin/Moderator of the STEEM SEA Community, and

The experience of the theme that I will bring if it passes later is to create handicrafts from coconut leaves or something like that. Here I want to tell you that I have a talent in weaving, maybe many also ask me to teach it. I learned weaving from my grandmother, grandfather, sister and mother. Then through technology, I also often learn by myself on YouTube so that I can develop my talent in the handicraft section. I also often upload videos of my handicrafts on YouTube.

I was introduced to the Steemit platform in April 2022, and I started to deepen it after a few months and got support from the Steemit team which made me more enthusiastic and consistently active here. As time goes by I realized that this platform is very good to develop and become the top priority on my phone that can share all creativity.

While my experience about the theme that we will bring this time is that I will try to help as much as possible my best friend in the crafts discussed, namely making handicrafts from leaves such as handicrafts from coconut leaves or the like. In addition, I also often follow her in weaving hats from coconut leaves or palm leaves, so that I can also do it, also I often see her making baskets to clothesline mats from coconut leaves and also I practice in making the same thing. Hopefully, the experience I gained can support her in becoming an assistant to this teaching team.

It is from this basis that I will raise the theme. Because coconut leaves are one of the materials that we often encounter in the world, but if there are no coconut leaves can be used palm leaves or the like, we know that from these simple leaves can be created a lot of crafts that can be made, for example grasshopper decorations from coconut leaves, mini baskets, even to traditional hats, with crafts like this will certainly hone creativity, but not only that but also useful for preserving local wisdom.

Handicrafts like this are not only limited to decorative arts, in addition to environmentally friendly materials are also easy to obtain, making it a suitable choice for educational activities and hobbies. We are here to teach the techniques of making handicrafts from coconut leaves or the like even from the basics of making to advanced creations. In the spirit of sharing knowledge, we plan to introduce creative ways to turn coconut leaves into valuable works of art, whether for display, gifts, or small useful tools.

If it is very difficult for a country to get coconut leaves, palm leaves or the like, then we also allow them to substitute the leaves with paper or plastic string or the like that has the strong properties of coconut leaves. The weaving can still be done the same, from setting the pattern to the weaving process.

We will also provide some videos that support this kind of handicraft. Here are the videos:

Benar bang, terkadang kerajinan tangan seperti ini orang-orang sudah lupa bahkan tidak tahu lagi cara membuatnya. Terimakasih atas dukungannya.
