The meaning of the word Halong Bay refers to a dragon winding into the sea. Legend has it that the people here have tasted the bitterness of foreign enemies' aggression. In order to save them, the dragon gods appeared above the sky. Those islands were made by dragons to punish invaders by spitting out gems from their mouths.
Halong Bay is divided into three small bays. On the surface of the sea, the limestone islands are densely covered with stars, sharp peaks, and strange rocks.
The history of Halong Bay National Park is not long. Due to years of fighting in Vietnam, the cultural heritage has not been protected for a long time. Later this work started with Mr. Do Manh Kviha. Even after enlisting in the army, he collected a lot of related exhibits with the help of friends.
Do Manh Kvil also directly participated in the creation of the Halong Bay National Park Museum. During the Vietnam War in 1962, he finally turned his dream into reality-Halong Bay was officially approved as a national park.
In 1994, 32 years later, Halong Bay National Park finally became a world cultural heritage by UNESCO with its unique beauty.
