Many years ago, the author worked for a European import and export company, and was often stationed in Southeast Asia on business trips. Cambodia is one of the stops. For other reasons, I live here all the year round. I have lived here for almost 20 years without knowing it. With the increase of domestic tourists visiting Cambodia, I also hope to take this opportunity to share some useful information I have learned and how I feel about life in Cambodia. In the general consciousness of the Chinese people, Cambodia is a weak and small neighboring country, poor and backward, and it is not even enough to travel to Cambodia, and few people have a deep understanding of the country's history and current situation, as well as its tourism resources. There are more than 100 countries in the world today, and each country and nation has its own unique history and culture, and they are all unique.
Cambodia has been in civil strife from 1970 to 1996, and it has only been 20 years since it emerged from the war. We cannot expect too much. The level of economic and social development may be more intuitively manifested in the country’s infrastructure. When you first come here, when you look at the backwardness of this kind of city, the first reaction is poverty. However, behind Cambodia's outdated infrastructure and messy city appearance, there is a relatively complete service industry system. It can receive nearly 5 million international tourists every year, which is a great improvement from this level.
Today, when we came to Cambodia, what we saw was the kind smile from the heart of Khmer people, and what we enjoyed was the artistic hotel, rich and varied cuisine and the warm service of the locals. This diverse and inclusive culture, beautiful natural scenery, and many experiences may have quietly changed our hearts.

What else is outside of Angkor?
Cambodia covers an area of 181,000 square kilometers, is divided into 24 provinces, and has more than 1,140 tourist attractions across the country. The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia divides their tourism industry into two parts, one is cultural tourism, with an emphasis on Angkor; the other is ecological tourism, which refers to It's outside of Angkor. Cultural tourism is relatively mature, and ecological tourism has just begun. Backpackers from Europe and the United States have already been on the road of exploration.
Cambodia has not experienced industrialization and most of its land is still in a primitive state. It is rich in island beach resources and forest resources. Phnom Penh is located at the confluence of the Mekong, Tonle Sap and Basa rivers. Three big rivers embrace it like arms. Phnom Penh is 310 kilometers away from the ancient capital of Angkor. It can be reached in 5 hours along Highway 6 from Angkor. There are also inland flights to and from Phnom Penh at Siem Reap-Angkor Airport, which only takes 50 minutes.
Cambodia became independent in 1953, and the economy developed rapidly in the following 20 years. Phnom Penh showed unprecedented prosperity and was known as the "Paris of the East". It has a population of more than 2.5 million, and there are hundreds of thousands of foreign residents here. Phnom Penh is highly open, economically free, and culturally diverse. Although its infrastructure is backward, it has developed rapidly and is changing with each passing day.
