1. How weather effect our life and play important role ? what kind of weather do you like and why you like it

Weather is an important factor in our life. Basically we need all kinds of weather. It's just that sometimes the weather does not match our needs at that time. For example, the rainy weather is urgently needed by the farmers so that they can get water for their business.

On the other hand, it will not be suitable, even a little difficult for people who are drying their crops and many examples.

After all, all types of weather are good because they are a gift or creation of God for mankind. We are the ones who have to adapt ourselves to the existing conditions.

We must realize that God gives and loves all mankind, so we should not be selfish and expect God to only provide and serve us.

The weather really affects our activities so we have to adapt so that we can continue to do activities optimally.

what kind of weather do you like and why do you like it?

I come from Indonesia (Aceh) which is a tropical area which has two seasons, namely rainy and dry season.

I like these two seasons because both we need and they both have the same benefits in different ways.

I like the rainy season because this season it rains with a fairly high frequency. Farmers usually plant rice in the rice fields at this time and I really like the atmosphere of the countryside and the rice fields.

At other times I also have romantic memories when it rains. Romantic and happy feelings enveloped my heart when it rained which made my heart peaceful and serene.

I also like the dry season, even though at that time the weather was a little hot, but I was able to carry out various activities to the maximum. Of course I adapt to various kinds of weather.

2. What region do you live in? And what are the seasons in your region?

I live in Indonesia (Aceh) and currently at the peak of the dry season. Although the dry season sometimes rains with moderate frequency. The rainy season usually lasts from September to January.

3. What is your favorite season And why do you like it?

I love both seasons in our area. During the rainy season the weather is cooler and I can do many activities such as planting various flowers and vegetables and during the dry season even though the weather is quite hot, I can do outdoor activities more freely including carrying out my duties as a veterinarian who provides services animal health for the community.

During the dry season I can practice and do Hapkido and Taekwondo with the children without fear of being disturbed by the rain.

4. Depending on the season in your region or country or city, which rituals are more celebrated?

It can be said that the events or rituals that exist in our area do not depend on the season. Religious events and rituals such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha celebrations take place regardless of season because they are scheduled in the Hijri calendar. Likewise with celebrations in social settings such as weddings and others.

It's just that in the rainy season when farmers will start going down to the fields there is a local wisdom called KENDURI BLANG which is an activity held by people who come to the fields and bring various types of food ingredients to be cooked and eaten together in the fields. The event also held a prayer together led by local religious leaders.

5. What clothes and food do you like depending on the season(cultural reflection)?

Because we have two seasons in our area, we adapt our clothes to the existing conditions. During the dry season we more often wear casual clothes such as t-shirts and others to respond to the hot weather, while during the rainy season we often wear thicker clothes such as jackets and even hoodies.

We also always prepare raincoats just in case when it rains so that we can continue to carry out activities or travel even though it is raining.

The food that I like during the rainy season is warm food such as boiled corn, boiled noodles (Mie Aceh) and others. I really like warm food and also hot drinks when it rains that I drink by the fish pond while enjoying the view of the fish in my pond.

Meanwhile, during the dry season we like to eat anything, especially cold food and drinks.

6. Which season's fruit do you like and why?

In our area there are several fruit seasons and I really like it when the durian season arrives. Usually the durian season coincides with the rambutan season and also the langsat season.

Durian is a tropical fruit with a sweet and appetizing taste. When the durian season arrives, everywhere we can get a sweet smell of durian, sometimes we even buy it directly in the garden.

Durian can be eaten directly or processed into a variety of local specialties. And what is certain is that the wheels of the community's economy move during this season.

7. Apart from you, which season do the people of your area prefer?

Apart from the two seasons above the people at our place really like it when the mauled season arrives. Usually the celebration of the Prophet's birthday is held for three consecutive months. People flocked to voluntarily celebrate the Prophet's birthday by holding events in each village and mosque.

The community prepares the event in advance and on the agreed day a prayer and barjanzi are read, which is complemented by a joint meal (kenduri) where each village is invited during the event in its neighboring village.

8. In which season does your area face more difficulties and what are those difficulties?

We encountered problems during the rainy season when the rainfall was quite high which often caused floods that hit our village.

The frequency of floods currently tends to increase and the severity also tends to increase.

Floods are caused by illegal logging and severe deforestation that is currently happening. Floods occur in almost all sub-districts and within our district.

This has happened time and time again and we are used to it. On the other hand, we try to adapt to this condition by preparing everything to face this flood.

I prepared a boat that could be used when needed both to evacuate family members and villagers and to buy logistics when a flood occurred.

I find my own pleasure when a flood occurs because I can bathe with my children in a flood like being in a waterboom. I also enjoy traveling around the village to monitor floods by boat and try to help people who need help.

9. What is the special ritual associated with a particular season that people in your area have been waiting for all year?

The special awaited event is a number of wedding parties which are usually held during the dry season because our area is a flood-prone area. People don't want to have a wedding party when suddenly a flood comes and inundates the village so that invited guests can't come to the party.

In conclusion, the seasons are very influential in our every activity. We certainly can't choose what season we want because all types of seasons have advantages and disadvantages for us. What we like isn't necessarily right for someone else, nor should it be.

For that we must accept whatever the conditions are and try to adapt in dealing with them.

Everything will be good if we can adapt and enjoy it as a necessity. All obstacles will not stop us from moving. Whatever, life is beautiful….keep smiling and stay positive….
