Greetings to all the steemians in the house. I'm glad to be here among you once again, and I don't take it for granted. Before I continue I will love to appreciate this community for this beautiful topic.

Weather can be referred to as the atmospheric condition of a particular place over a short period of time. Weather can also be defined as a mix of events that happen each day in the atmosphere. Weather varies in different parts of the world and it changes over minutes, hours, days, weeks and months. When we talk about the condition of the atmosphere, we are simply referring to whether the atmosphere is cloudy, stormy, rainy, sunny, dried, etc. The atmospheric condition varies in different parts of the world. For instance, in Nigeria we have basically two seasons, which are dry and rainy season, but some parts of the world experience more than two. Russia for instance experience basically four different weather in a year, and they are: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Read below as I explain more about weather in detail.

 How weather affect our life's

Weather have great effect on our live's as individuals, and it also have great impact on our daily activities. The effect of weather on our life's could either be negative or positive, depending on our body system and the environment where we find ourself. For example, they are thousands of people who prefer the cold weather, while some prefer hot weather. It all depend on what our body system is used to. More to that, the atmospheric condition also affact our daily activities because, it determines the kind of food we eat, the kind of clothes we wear, and even the time we leave our homes. Take for instance, in a cold weather, most people take much tea unlike during hot weather. And we tend to wear heavy clothes whenever the weather is cold, unlike the light clothes we wear when the weather is hot.

In addition, weather also determine the kind of occupation we go into. For instance, when you go to a place where much rainfall is being experienced, you will notice that most people there are either farmers or fishers because the weather favour such occupations. And if you find your self where the there is no much rainfall, you will notice that people who reside there are either business men or government workers. To cut it short, weather affect the kind of occupation we do.

More to that, the weather also affect our health, when the weather is so cold, it affect those with nimonia and when the weather is too hot it causes skin burn. The effect of weather on our live can never be discussed all because, they are numerous.

The kind of weather I like, and why I like it.

Personally I prefer the cold weather. I happens to grow up where the weather is mostly cold, and my body system has adopted to it. Whenever I find my self in a hot environment, I hardly sleep because my body system is against it, and it affect me both physically and emotionally. More to that, here in my local government, we are mostly farmers, and as a farmer, we love the rainy and cold weather because, it support our occupation a lot. You know farm activities are mostly done during the rainy reason. Also, I'm some that love taking tea, and you know its always difficult for one to take tea when the weather is hot.

I live in Michika local government area, Adamawa state, Nigeria. Adamawa state is one of the States in the northern part of the country (Nigeria), and michika is known as the most populated local government in the state. Michika local government is full of farmers and business men because, our weather favours both farming and business. In michika, we farm things like groundnut, maize, rice, millet, cassava, etc.

In michika, we have two seasons, which a are dry and rainy season. Rainy season usually start from May to second week of November. While dry season start from the remaining weeks of November to April. Looking at the two seasons, you will believe that our farm activities start as soon as we start experiencing rainfall, and once the raining season is over, we go into businesses.

As I mentioned earlier, my body system adopt better to cold and rainy season because, I grew up in a cold environment. And one of the reason I love rainy season is makes everywhere to look conducive and greenish. Also, rainy season support the kind of food I enjoy the most. I earlier mentioned that I love tea so much, and cold weather gives me more opportunity to drink it more. In addition to that, farming activities are normally carried out during the rainy season, and I love farming. In fact, farming is one of my occupation. Cold weather also makes my skin fresh and shinny. The above reasons are why so much like cold and rainy season

Here in michika, we celebrate a lot of festivals such as Christmas, new year, marriage, and naming festivals. But the most celebrated cultural festival is the Kamwe festival. This festival is as old as michika land. We inherited it from our forefathers, and its being celebrated every 20th of December. Kamwe festival is the most celebrated festival in michika land. The aim of the festival is to unit the people of the land. We see ourselves as brothers and sisters. The festival use to be celebrated in such a way that every household will cook and bring to the market square where the festival is normally celebrated. Both men and women will appear on cultural dressing. Men will be playing drums and fluids, while women and children will be singing and dancing around the market square.
During that period, its believed that everybody must have brought his or her farm produce home, and there won't be any rainfall to disturb the cultural celebration.

Naturally I love lite and simple clothes. The reason is, my body system is always not in agreement with hot weather, and if I by any chance wear heavy clothes, it generate heat and make me uncomfortable, as such I like simple and lite clothes. Talking about the kind of food I like. I so much love what we call tuwo (swallow) with okro soup, and I love yam too. Remember yam is always available in my local government because, its one of thing we farm so much.

The season fruit I like the most is watermelon. Watermelon have been my favorite fruit right from childhood. I like watermelon so much because of it nutritional benefits. Below are some of the health benefit of watermelon.

• it aid skin health
• it improve digestion
• it reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
• improve the health of our heart
• Helps us to stay hydrated

People have different preference when it comes to the issue of weather. Some like hot weather, while other people prefer cold weather. But considering the nature of my place, and the occupation of my people, I can conclude that people prefer cold and rainy weather. The reason is most people here are farmers, and naturally my local government don't experience much heat. As such people here are more adopted to cold weather.

Here in michika, people face more difficulties during the rainy reason. The reasons are:

1. Rainfall use to cause over flooding, which sometimes cause risk to human life, damages to buildings and infrastructure, and also loss of crops and livestock

2. It causes erosion, poor drainage, muddy environment.,etc.

3. It affect business men too because, when there is heavy rainfall, people hardly go out to open their business, and even if they open, they normally experience low sales.

4. Rainfall also affect some ceremonies such as, naming and wedding ceremony.

5. Rainfall also hinder people from religion activities because I noticed that anytime its raining on sunday morning, people don't normally attend church services

The above reasons are the difficulties that michika people experience during rainy season.

The only cultural festival that michika people are always earger to celebrate is the kamwe cultural festival. Before the date of the festival, people who travelled to other parts of the country in search of greener pastures always return home in order to unit and celebrate with other family members. Like I earlier said, the aim of the festival is to unite and create bond between the people of the land. The kamwe festival use to be very unique and interesting because there, you will meet a lot of people whom you have not seen for a year.
