Greetings to you my dear friend. How are you doing today. Trust you have a wonderful day. Indeed I am so much happy to have you here on my post which I have discussed about "Language" as part of my entry to the contest was is organized in urdu-community.

Language is one of the unique blessings that God Almighty has given to us and it's the reason why differnent languages is spread across every known human society/community so we can be able to communicate with one another in a convenient way without fear.

To this I have discussed what is meant by language and other information that will suit you in accordance to the questions that was asked in the contest.

What is meant by language? Define language in your own words.

Generative is what is meant by language and it is a means by which the symbols of a language can be combined together to produce an uncountable number of messages that we speak with one another

In my own definition, Language is define as a system of symbols, rules and signs that is given to us my God for meaningful communication. In a nutshell, language can be define as a means through which an information can be pass across from one person to another in a way that the person will understand better.

In a language, the use of symbols, gestures, sounds and even written characters are use to pass information across. It is very important and understood to the both parties.

How language connects an individual to his family,glob or specific socieity.

Language is very important to every individual as its help in connecting us to our family, friends destiny helper etc. Someone may never know how important his/her language is until that person find his/herself in a strange land.

To an individual language help to connects an individual to his family in such a way that it seem so miraculous. For example, someone that didn't grow up in his/her village will not get to know all the members of his family's. But with language that person can be connected to his/her family when he/she can be able to speak or understand.

Now as an individual once you find yourself in a strange Land, your next step is to start looking for someone that can speak your language and once you found that person the next step is to start communicating with that person and from there you both will get to know each other home and family members.

The fact here is that our language is actually our identity so once you see a person that is speaking your language with you, you should know that from that person you have already connected to your family, culture etc. And also without language, in the world, no culture can be of existence because once you see a person that is speaking your language with is an indication that the person knows so much about your Identity, family, culture etc and can connect you to your family.

Which is yours mother tongue? and which languages ​​are spoken and understood in your home other than your mother tongue?

My mother tongue is Bekwarra. Aside Bekwarra language, In my home Bendi Language, English Language and Pidgin Language are the two languages that are spoken and understood in my home.
Mother Language: Bekwarra
Other Languages: Bendi, English and Pidgin Language.

How many languages ​​do you know and how did you learn more than one language?

I know of five languages which are;

• English Language
• Pidgin Language
• Bekwarra/Bendi Language
• Hausa
• Igbo

The five languages above are the languages that I know and learn more than the others. As for English language I learn it in school, whereas as Pidgin Language is the language I learn from my peer groups and also at home when I was growing up.

As for HAUSA and IGBO, I learn them from my neighbors at home and friends in school.

In which language did you study in school to university and which language do you prefer in the education system in your country and why?

English Language is the language that i study in school to university and it's the language that I prefer in education system in my country for the following reasons;

• English Language is the type of language that is commonly speak in every part of the world.
• Is the language that the whole world know.
• English Language is not a tribal language but a universal language that most countries are now learning it.
• English is easy to communicate with one another than HAUSA, YOUROUBA, IGBO or any other languages.
• Companies usually employed those that can speak end write English language than those that can speak and write HAUSA, YOUROUBA or IGBO.

How one language or more than one languages plays an important role in the development of society.?

English language plays an important roles in the development of our society more than any other languages. English Language is the language that sharpen our personality and psychological development as well as our method of thinking.

The reasons why English Language plays an important role in the development of society is that it's one of the language that is use for communication in every countries. Today, most of the countries in the world are adopting English language as they general language. English Language bring inter-relationship between two society and its build development.

English Language is also more important than other because is the language that is use for international communication or business.

With English Language we can travel to any part of the world as it give us access to more opportunities and entertainment in life of which other languages cannot.

How does culture relate to language?

Culture is relate to language because culture itself to me is a language that is usually mentioned when someone is discussing his/her language with another person. This means that when we look at the two words together we will see that culture and language are developed together from the character of individual.

For language to be understanding easily it's must be accompanied with culture which makes the both of them to be related. And when you take a look at someone that is speaking his/her language accurately, you will get to see that culture is the blood that flow whereas language is the flesh that is put in together to bring out a meaningful speech from that person.

This is the reason why if you get to see someone without culture, you will see that the person cannot speak his/her language accurately, meaning that the both are related and when culture is lose out some part of language will also be lose out also.

Finally, to this I will say that culture which is the total way of life influence the value of an individual, both the person methods of interaction and the tradition of the person too since language is what is speakout.

Also, culture is relate to language as it's culture that tells someone how to interacts and do things correctly with another person, while language is most focus on interactions with one another.

Would you like to prefer writing in your own language at the time of writing posting on steemit, if yes why and if not why not?

No I wouldn't because my language isn't a well known language that people can understand and it's not even online for my audiences/users to translate. Also my language is usually difficult for me to write because some words in my language is very hard to pronounce.

If you want to promote your language in the world, how will you do it? and if you already done, then how much success have you achieved?

If am to promote my language in the world, I will start by teaching people about my language both online and offline for the world to start learning it. Also I will promote it through YouTube and Google promotional materials to enlighten the world about my language.
