It's my delight to be participating in the steemit engagement challenge for this week.
Today I'll be writing on the contest hosted by the Urdu community here we are expected to write about the weather/season with points to cover.

How weather effect our life and play important role ? what kind of weather do you like and why you like it.

Without a doubt, weather is one of the biggest factors that affects humans.
It can affect the choices we make, how we will dress, eat, behave.
Weather can have immediate or delayed effect on our health and wellness and food production.
Extreme weather can adversely affect us and even cause us to evacuate to a safer place.

There are many types of weather conditions that we experience which includes the sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy, stormy.

I like the rainy weather

I like the rainy weather because of it's benefits to our environment.
The rainy weather helps our plants to flourish and the soil to produce good food.
The rain also makes beautiful flowers and plants to flourish.

I also like the rainy weather because of the cold it produces. The rainy weather is also gentle to the human skin.

Even though the rain can destroy plans for the day or cause negative effects such as flooding, it is important for many reasons. And it pays important roles in the well being of humans.

What region do you live in? And what are the seasons in your region?

I'm from Africa, my country is Nigeria which is where I also live in. I live in the south south part of the country.
The seasons we have in Nigeria include:
The dry season( A period of rare rainfall and brightness), rainy season (A period of much rainfall and cloud), Harmattan (A period of dryness, dust and cold).

What is your favorite season And why do you like it?

My favorite season is the harmattan. I like that harmattan season because of the cold and the activities it allows me to enjoy. During the harmattan we always travel to visit our relatives since it always occurs during the vacation period. We get to play late night games with friends and relatives because of the longer nights that comes with the harmattan season.

Depending on the season in your region or country or city, which rituals are more celebrated?

Most times there are celebrations or rituals that are attached to certain seasons in my country.

• During the rainy season, most people celebrate the new crop festivals, or festival of the first fruits.

• During the harmattan season people celebrate Christmas festivals

• Easter falls during the dry seasons of Nigeria

What clothes and food do you like depending on the season(cultural reflection)?

As I've mentioned earlier, the weather condition affects the way we dress daily.
During the hot season I wear more lighter clothing's while in the cold season I wear clothes to cover myself from the cold.

Since I do not take part in many of those celebrations (Easter, Christmas, New yam festival), I do not have special dress codes, i dress normal, the only thing that changes is the thickness and lightness of the clothing.

Which season's fruit do you like and why?

My favorite fruit is the mango which always appear during the harmattan season. I also like the African cherry. Both fruits appear during harmattan.
I like those fruits because of the pleasant taste and colors.

Apart from you, which season do the people of your area prefer?

I noticed that many people here prefer the dry season since it allows them to run their business without having to worry about the rain or the cold.

In which season does your area face more difficulties and what are those difficulties?

In some areas where there are bad roads, people living there face difficulties during the rainy season.
Flooding is one of the major problems in those areas and as a result they are unable to go out to do business and provide for their families.

What is the special ritual associated with a particular season that people in your area have been waiting for all year?

People expect Christmas and easter season to come because during that time they make many merry and also it is the vacation period or as we may put it, the free period.

It's a good thing that we have and can enjoy different weathers, weather is a beautiful gift from God and we always give him appreciation for making it in varieties.
