INTRODUCTION

Greetings Teachers, fellow Students and all Steemians, My name is Udofia, Marvelous Sunday a children and Youth's coach from Nigeria. I am glad to be a part of the SLC S23W1/ Body Expression and Facial Expressions class. I am more excited about the topic since it talks about creating cordial relationships with children of which that happens to be my niche.

From my experience, Children are sets of human beings who mostly speaks their pains, happiness challenges, a d feelings through body movements and facial expressions when compared to every other category of beings. With this I find it interesting be a part of the class so as to learn and get more insight on how to understand the children better.

Task 1: Using my words to explain how to play the Charade game

Permit me to specifically center my explanation on the Charade game I hosted for four children of which I served as the Moderator. As the moderator,
I officiated the game while Four children aged between 6 to 10 years of age took turns playing. Though the game could simply be played using digital tools, we had to use the simple and traditional way and it made more sense to us as everything was so natural.

Materials Used

2.| Plain sheet (writing the guide)
3.| Pen (writting)

The game was played in three steps listed as follows

STEP 1: This is the step I introduced the children to the game owing to the fact that it was a new game to them. I carefully spelt out the rules of the game making emphasis on the mime aspect (facial or gestures allowed and no sounds or speaking), the duration of time for each guess and the points for each correct answer. I even went as far as acting the rules for further explanations since my children were not old enough to have proper understanding of things. The smiles on their faces made me believed they understood and found the game interesting.

STEP 2: After designing my spin wheel using a mixture of emotions and daily activities, each of the children took turns in spinning the wheel. When he/she spins, I read the action or emotion to their ear then they try to mimic what they have heard to the other children whose works were to suggest what the mimic child did. At this point, who ever gets it right scores a point and another child takes turn in spinning until everyone might have took turns for two times. Instances where no children were able to predict the observed actions, I gave hints and the gamer or I would say what he/she was acting out.

STEP 3: This is when we called it a wrapped and I used mime in thanking the children. While announcing the results.

Task 2: How did you feel playing, was it fun?

Please let me begin by thanking my teachers for introducing me to a game I have never known before. Initially, i thought that the game was mainly about winning. It was during the game that I realized that it was not just about winning, but being attentive, being creative and most especially making Fun. The most excited part of it comes in when even the performer doubts what he performed especially when the action is highly tricky and exaggerating. It was highly fun-filled as both the moderator and gamers laughed out their bowls.

Task 3. Which mime was the easiest for the child to imitate and which was the most difficult?

During the game, we had a combination of activities and emotions. The easiest mime were basically the activities children performed on a daily or routine basis. For example the sweeping of the floor, where the child held and imaginary broom and swept an imaginary dirt. Another easy task was the brushing of teeth as the children gave chorus answers on them. On the other hand, the difficult mimes were those activities children did once in a while. For example activities such as catching a toad and catching a bird... Were difficult since they needed movement, jumping and then skillfully catching something invincible in the air. These were the activities that made the game more fun-filled, creative and exciting.
