Assalamualaikum everyone ...

Today I plan to participate in a contest with a very good theme, namely traditional children's games. Part of the reason I am interested in this contest is because in addition to having fun, I can reminisce a little with my past when playing with friends.

What is the name of the traditional game you chose? Describe in your own words how to play

This traditional game is called "injit injit ant🐜🐜". Injit injit ants is a game played by singing songs and pinching the hands of each player. The game injit injit ants does not actually use ants to play, friends. According to me, the name injit injit ants was made because the pinch of the hand when playing feels like being bitten by ants hehe.

Usually this game can be played by 2 to 5 people. Played by pinching the player's hand below and when in the second position we will feel the pinch and pinch the other player. Here I will explain how to play injit injit ants

How to play:
1.Here I play with 3 of my siblings and sit in a circle.

  1. Positioning hands with stacked up alternately with other players.
  1. Start pinching the player's hand that is under our hand.

  2. Start singing the song injit injit ants and start the game

  3. The hands of the bottom player can take turns to go up when the song is finished and so on.

  4. The rhythm is "Injit-injit ant, who is sick rises above. Injit injit ant, even if it hurts don't let go."

What are your rules? Do you make changes to the rules as you see fit?

Actually, there are no certain rules in playing this game, but usually we will punish him who moves his hand to the top position first before his turn. We will punish him by making him sing or dance. In addition, there is no winner in playing this game, this game can last as long as we have fun for as long as we want.

Of the characteristics of traditional games we have discussed, which do you think are present in the traditional game you chose?

In my opinion, none of the traditional games I chose are included in the characteristics of the traditional games you mentioned. However, I know some of the traditional games you mentioned and have played them as a child. Like hide and seek, rock paper scissors, and marbles. We even played rock paper scissors for daily purposes, such as deciding who would choose where to eat. These three games are indeed very often played by children until now.
The characteristics of this game can be adapted according to the place and culture here by simply changing the existing songs as desired. Furthermore, this game can also be played easily and simply. The steps in playing this game are also quite easy to understand just by singing and moving your hands according to the song. In addition, this game can also be played anytime and anywhere we like.

Did the kids have fun? Share your experience playing this traditional game with them. Feel free to tell us the best moment you had during the activity

When we played this game my youngest brother wanted to join in, he was so happy when we started pinching each other's hands and laughing. Playing like this made me remember the things I used to play as a child with my friends. This time I played it with my cousin's younger brother who is much different in age from me. But that doesn't change the excitement when playing it even though it's not with peers.

In addition to playing for fun, this game can also train to control the emotions of each player during the game. Sometimes when the position of our hands is at the top, we will feel happy and pinch other players strongly because we don't feel pain at that time, but it will also happen to us when our hands are in the second position and the next position to the bottom. So the lesson we can take from the ants' injit injit game is "if you don't want to be hurt, don't hurt others"

Share a video or photo of you doing the activity, remember that both you and the child must appear in the photo.
