| Create a new project in the UTM Geomaps application with a name and description |

Although I have been making use of GPS before now, mostly while traveling to a place for the first time, I found UTM Geomaps very interesting, user-friendly, and more accurate and precise than the previous GPS I've been using.
Meanwhile, I followed the instructions to install this app from the Google Play Store. After the installation of the app, I launched it and clicked on the settings icon to create a project.
On the interface that came up after clicking on the settings icon, I clicked on "project" and another interface popped up from which I selected "create project"
Clicking on Create Project launched me yet into another interface where I named my project, gave it a description, set it as an active project, and executed these settings by clicking on "OK".
After that, I went back to the settings to choose the map type. I clicked on "Map Type" and then, on the next interface, selected "Satellite" as my map type.

After completing this, I was ready to commence with spotting my locations.
Location 1: Seven-Up Bottling Company Aba Plant
This is one of the nine strategically located Seven-Up Bottling Company plants established in the 1970s as part of the company's expansion program.
Being one of the largest manufacturing companies in Nigeria, it produces and distributes renowned brands of soft drinks, which include Pepsi, 7-up, and Mirinda. This particular plant has significantly contributed to Abia State's economic growth, making provision for employment opportunities for many people.
Location 2: Pepple's Road Roundabout
Before now, some years ago, this particular spot used to be a shadow of itself. It was a bushy area and hence wasn't motorable, a despised area, a den of thieves and hoodlums. Nevertheless, due to the sandy nature of this location, it was equally a playground for us as kids back in those days.
Location 3: Market Square
This is an easily accessible place to both residents and visitors as it is strategically positioned at the heart of the town. It offers an enjoyable and contemporary shopping experience alongside a vast range of products such as household items, groceries, and many more. The mall is clean and well-organized with a vast parking area.
This establishment is recognized for delivering high-standard products at competitive prices. It has established a strong reputation for offering original and authentic items, positioning itself as a trusted shopping destination for both visitors and locals.
Location 4: Crunchies
The location of this place makes it easily accessible to residents and visitors alike. Crunchies is known for its delicious food, such as fried chicken, Shawarma, and other delicacies. This location also offers an unruffled and cool environment which makes it an ideal spot for hangouts and relaxation. It has received people's accolades for its nice environment, delicious delicacies as well as cool ambiance.

These places are quite significant to me and also hold some memories. Besides being the producer of our renowned brands of soft drinks, Seven-Up Bottling Company was the company where I first served as an electrical technician in their technical department.
The People's Road roundabout reminds me of my days as a kid. Due to the sandy nature of the place, it was a converging point for children from different nearby streets. Some would walk miles down to this place to play and have fun. We practiced and did all manner of gymnastics. Being so close to Aba River, it would always serve for our bathing and swimming play. Life as a kid was quite fun.
Due to the increasing rate of adulteration, Market Square, ever since its inception in the town, has been our center for shopping, be it consumables, groceries, or anything else. Their restaurant or eatery section also provides assorted tasty meals, the pharmacy guarantees high-quality drugs, and the outfit section is also stocked with high-quality, trending outfits. They equally have a cinema room for unequal entertainment. Market Square is indeed a place to get satisfaction.
Crunchies have always been my children's favorite place of fun, where they regularly visit. Their playground is equipped to accommodate many children; their vanilla ice cream is a desire for many children and my son's favorite ice cream. He will always strive to take the first position in his class because he knows that besides his regular visit to this location, something special accrues to him.

Technological advancements have helped in solving and mitigating a whole lot of problems and issues, and in my opinion, it is very important to know how to use a GPS.
GPS is one of such technological advancements that has helped in risk reduction and enhanced navigation. Knowing how to GPS helps one to easily navigate unknown territories, mitigating the danger of getting lost. This is particularly important for hikers, drivers, as well as tourists who venture into new regions.
Furthermore, GPS is also helpful for emergency response and enhanced safety such that knowing how to use it can be a lifesaver when it comes to emergencies. With GPS, your location can be quickly shared with emergency services like firefighters, police, or ambulances, guaranteeing a swifter response time
Additionally, the knowledge of how to use GPS enables one to optimize routes, keep away from traffic congestion, and get to one's destination on time. This can significantly enhance productivity, lower stress, and improve the entire quality of life.

GPS will always be useful anytime I am leaving my home to any location either on a business trip or my usual construction and electrical work. This will always help me not only to document my route but also to share my trail and location with my next of kin (wife) in case of any emergency and for safety purposes.
