It goes with out saying thomas edison is among the greatest scientist to have ever graced the surface of this earth,
his notable invention was the invention of light the first electric light bulb. The first one lasted 40 hours and the second one lasted 225 hours
He was an American inventor born 11 February 1847, Milan, Ohio, United States known notably for his many failed attempts to make a bulb and also known popularly for his many failed attempts trying to create bulb.
He had other achievement like-
-He was the first scientist to have a research lab at 1876
-Rechargeable battery
-Motion Pictures etc.
Most people dont realise that Thomas Alva Edison also had a lot of failed inventions e.g Talking doll e.t.c

Stephen Williams Hawking was one of the greatest scientist we have in our generation he was born in 8 January 1942
Oxford, England He was a theoretical physicist who studied at the University College, Oxford, in October 1959 at the age of 17, where he received a first-class BA (Hons.) degree in physics. He began his graduate work at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, in October 1962, where he obtained his PhD degree in applied mathematics and theoretical physics, specialising in general relativity and cosmology in March 1966. In 1963, Hawking was diagnosed with an early-onset slow-progressing form of motor neurone disease that gradually paralysed him over the decades.[20][21] After the loss of his speech, he communicated through a speech-generating device initially through use of a handheld switch, and eventually by using a single cheek muscle, He died at the age of 55 Reference
