The month of Ramadan is the period of fasting in Islam, a month of piosness, sacrifice, kindness, the month trains those who are fasting how to continue doing the good deeds, even after month, throughout the end of the year and forever in their lives, fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan is spiritual, and their are many health benefits of doing so.

When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

During Ramadan, Satan is chained, what this means is that there is fear of God in the Holy month of Ramadan, unless one chooses to sin intentionally.

Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The month is a month of forgiveness. Nevertheless there also many health benefits of Ramadan I will like to share some today.

  • During the month of Ramadan smoking is not allowed, it is even prohibited in Islam, according to health wise smoking itself is dangerous to the health, a person doing this will restraint themselves from doing so till the end of the month of Ramadan, and teaches us not to return to the same act again, taking of alcoholic substance is prohibited during the month of Ramadan, the month trains us how to stop the addiction of taking alcohols, and other harmful drugs and live healthily, even watching of pork movies reduces.

Ramadan helps in improving weight loss in the body

  • The Holy month of fasting promotes rapid weight loss. It helps in reducing the fats in our body, people watch what they eat and tends to healthier options such as dates, nuts, lentil soup, and home cooked meals, However fasting is not a good weight loss strategy. Reducing fat and sugar intake, and increasing fruits and rest are better measures to achieve weight reduction.

  • Most of the food we consume today contains addictive substance we are not aware of which may result in toxins in our body, most of those toxins are fats which stores in our body, and Ramadan burns fat away from our body.

  • During Ramadan the usual daily eating and drinking all reduces, this exercise during Ramadan helps us to maintain the balance of fluid in the body, the breakdown of food takes place at steady rates and the release of energy in our body which also follows in gradual pattern. Engaging in fasting however does not stop production of acids in the stomach. however medical experts advice peptic ulcer patients to be cautious during fasting.

All the teachings in Ramadan, is trying to train us out to live healthy livings during and after Ramadan is gone, it's time to abandon the bad habits we have been doing, because Ramadan is around the corner.
