Like every visionary youth, I wanted to be my own boss. I wanted to call the shots and be in charge of my dear life.
I sought ways to actualize this dream. This made me venture into a few businesses.
Some failed and some were short lived.
I knew I needed to solve people's problems and be valuable.
So I was looking for the best avenue to do this.
It pricked my soul when I saw fresh graduates roaming about the streets of Lagos and Abuja in search of jobs.
Oh, no. I don't want this to be my fate.
Blessed with a couple of zealous people as friends gave me some strength to pursue something great. Some of my friends were so committed to making their lives count that it robbed off on me.
In March 2022, a friend signed me up for a 2-day copywriting training. Although the training was just for 2days, I immediately realized that copywriting was something I wanted give a trial.
Of the things that intrigued me was seeing how my coach who had the potential of being benched as a classroom teacher grew to become an amazing star.
Solving problems and dishing out value.
After the "copykit", the 2-day class I took, I was lost. A kit won't satisfy my hunger so I sought to go deeper.
Fast forward to June 2022 I signed up for the Bachelor of Copywriting course, one of the most corrosive copywriting classes there is.
The class was value packed, intense, full of assignments and tasks. It was then I got into the copywriting game proper.
Copywriting is the mother of all digital skills and as I grow in it I discover more possibilities in it.
Tragic things did happen that could have hindered me in the course of the training but it was my stated goals that kept me focused.
Without a doubt, it is important to be skilled.
In case you have been staggering on learning a skill, now is the time.
Think beyond your degree.
Learn a skill and be consistent.
You cannot imagine how glad you would feel solving people's problems and creating a future for yourself.
Remember: You might fall many times but when you do, dust yourself and keep moving.
