First, there are two types of motivational tendencies. These are achievement-oriented motivational tendencies and stability-oriented motivational tendencies. Stability-oriented types are also used as a word for avoidance motives, which impart a slightly negative perception. Achievement-oriented types focus on what you want to gain, and stability-oriented types focus on loss and self-motivation. For example, if you prepare with the thought that you will rank first on the exam, you become the achievement-oriented type, and if you prepare with the thought that you can't do any more than other people, you become the stability-oriented type.
In the past, an acquaintance kept saying that he was writing a report at the company and he really didn't want to do it. I once told myself that I didn't want to joke around, but if I did, I wanted to. At the time, I simply told a story based on my experience that if I really didn't want to do it, I thought that stability-oriented motivational tendencies were being expressed. But there have been many cases like this in my life. One of my friends played sports when I was a student, but when I lifted the last bench press, I heard that if I couldn't do this, I couldn't get a job. This is also an example of stability-oriented motivation.
The problem, in my opinion, is that I mean achievement-oriented motivation is the best. Is only achievement-oriented motivation the best? In my field, controlling for errors or side effects is more important. Due to the atmosphere, when it comes to side effects, there is a look that seems rebellious. This also seems to be due to the framework that achievement-oriented motivation is best. Of course it cannot be said that it is not important because what is clear is that achievement-oriented motivation produces creative innovation and changes paradigms, but in my opinion there is a problem of motivation-oriented stability which is considered a sin.
What is interesting, however, is that one does not handle all situations with just one disposition. For example, I have a somewhat achievement-oriented inclination toward work, but I have a very stability-oriented tendency for things like traveling abroad. It is my conclusion that it is necessary to understand and use it properly and put it into practice.
When we live, we have a self-concept. Currently, in this book, self is divided into three. It is the true self, the ideal self, the self that is just. That's why it's important to know what kind of ego you're after, depending on the motivational disposition of each situation. In other words, it is the process of finding you.
What do I want for the problem I talked about above? I am very happy to tell you the answers in this book. In fact, when you think about things on your own, you often want to make sure what you think is right. I will close with an excerpt from the book I love the most.
