Today is one of the most frustrating day for me in school, I was feeling all sorts of things that I can not name. My school or should I say most Tertiary Institutions have cooked out ways to suck money out of their students, but I am sure my school is worse, so much so that it is borderline annoying. We take on 13 courses in my level, and out of all the courses 11 of them have a theory and practical aspects.
For a course, three lectures will be handling it, two for the theory part and one for the practical. Each of these lecturers will come with their own textbook or handout accompanied with a workbook that each student will have to get.
Today I had to run around to figure out how to raise ₦4000, money that was not buggeted for, to get a textbook and be part of my practical group for Entrepreneurship Studies. Everyone was confused, did not know what to do because we were only told yesterday only for them to tell us to submit each payment to the cashier. The worst part is that the Department Student Affairs is not doing anything about it.
!
I am angry because this institution is not helping her students at all. They don't consider the fact some persons are training themselves and funds are hard to come by. They don't consider the parents that are being asked this money everyday not that you are being given immediately. They are bloodsucking agents that suck you dry without care how you get the money. They are not organised, they wake up and fix a thing without checking with the school timetable, like today. I had three (3) practicals almost at the same time, but thank God it worked out for good. It was only one of the lecturer accepted to wait for us till we were done with the other two after so much plea. Tomorrow another one will come with one excuse they think of at the moment.
I am only just tired.
