In people without hope,
desire spawns defiance.
They will do what's needed
acting in non-compliance.
People will be defiant.
The bane of those in power!
When people desire freedom.
Defiant, they won't cower!
If with an iron fist
is the way you rule,
then make a note to self,
defiance won't be cool!
Defiant is the state
the people will assume,
when they have to suffer.
They won't accept their doom!
Desire is the kindle.
Defiance is the fuel.
Anger is the fire.
Hell for those who rule.
It's what we like to believe.
