Where's that damn piece of paper. I definitely remember putting it in my jacket pocket... or maybe trousers...

The light of the left spotlight directed at the podium blinded the eyes, but it was impossible to turn away or block it. Besides, it was quite stuffy in the hall. My report was the last and people are already pretty tired. Someone was openly dozing, others were talking in whispers and everyone was waiting for the end of the third day of the conference.

The garrote around my neck in the form of a fashionable tie tried to deprive me of air, which was already scarce in the hall.

It was a traditional annual conference of psychologists. The venue was a boarding house on the seashore and all participants successfully combined the useful with the pleasant. It was already evening, my report ended with a general dinner... well, you know. Of course, my colleagues were not particularly interested in the report.

But for me, it was my first public appearance... and that damn piece of paper has gone somewhere...

While I was walking to the podium... while I was walking to the podium... my shirt stuck to my back. You know, it's very unpleasant when something sticks to your back. But the worst thing is that my glasses are fogged up. These are my special glasses with darkened glass. I feel a little more confident behind them. In addition, they are quite large in size. It is very comfortable. And through them I can't see the hall, only the text of the report.

The fact is that I decided to impress everyone and did not take a folder with the text with me... Damn, where is this cheat sheet... I walked and pretended to be looking for a handkerchief, patting my pockets importantly.

The podium was quite low for my height... that damn spotlight on the left... the glasses are completely fogged up... the shirt could be wrung out and the flowers watered on the windowsill... my head was starting to ring.

Meanwhile, there was a muted soft hum in the hall. Everyone was busy with some small things of their own. Instead of a cheat sheet, I felt a handkerchief in my pocket. Okay, at least it's important to wipe your glasses.

A low rostrum allowed to see the first row of spectators. Removing the fogged glasses from my nose, I suddenly saw... her...

I do not know what She was doing here, maybe the same as everyone else, but She was not like everyone else.

At that moment, the whole hall ceased to exist for me. Of course, he didn't go anywhere, but I didn't care about him anymore, I didn't care. I was no longer looking for a cheat sheet (after all, I remembered the report by heart), I just said the right words. Then at the end they even applauded me and the boss wrote out a bonus, but what does it matter to me.

The girl turned out to be from my hometown.
By the way, a year later we had a son.

Свет левого прожектора направленный на трибуну слепил глаза, но отвернуться или загородиться было невозможно. К тому же в зале было довольно душно. Мой доклад был последним и люди уже порядком устали. Кто-то откровенно дремал, другие шёпотом переговаривались и все ждали окончания третьего дня конференции.

Удавка на шее в образе модного галстука пыталась лишить меня воздуха, которого в зале и так было мало.

Это была традиционная ежегодная конференция психологов. Местом её проведения был пансионат на берегу моря и все участники успешно совмещали полезное с приятным. Был уже вечер, мой доклад завершался общим ужином... ну, вы понимаете. Особого интереса у коллег к докладу, конечно, не было.

Но для меня это было моё первое публичное выступление... а эта чёртова бумажка куда-то подевалась...

Пока я шёл к трибуне... пока я шёл к трибуне... рубашка прилипла к моей спине. Знаете, это очень неприятно, когда к спине что-то прилипает. Но хуже всего то, что мои очки запотели. Это мои специальные очки с затемнённым стеклом. За ними я чувствую себя несколько уверенней. К тому же они достаточно большие по габаритам. Это очень удобно. И ещё через них я не вижу зал, только текст доклада.

Дело в том, что я решил произвести на всех впечатление и не взял с собой папку с текстом... чёрт, где же эта шпаргалка... я шёл и делал вид, что ищу носовой платов важно похлопывая по карманам.

ТРибуна оказалась довольно низкой для моего роста... этот чёртов прожектор слева... очки совсем запотели... рубашку можно было выжимать и полить цветы на подоконнике... в голове начинало звенеть.

В зале между тем стоял приглушённый мягкий гул. Все были заняты какими-то своими мелкими делами. Вместо шпаргалки я нащупал в кармане носовой платок. Ладно, надо хотя бы важно протереть очки.

Низкая трибуна позволяла видеть первый ряд зрителей. Сняв с носа запотевшие стёкла, я вдруг увидел... её...

Я не знаю, что Она тут делала, может быть то же, что и все, но Она не была похожана всех.

В этот момент весь зал перестал для меня существовать. Он, конечно, никуда не делся, но мне больше не было дела до него, никакого дела. Я больше не искал шпаргалку (ведь я помнил доклад наизусть), я просто говорил нужные слова. Потом в конце мне даже апплодировали и начальник выписал премию, но какое мне до этого всего дело.

Девушка оказалась из моего родного города.
Между прочим, через год у нас родился сын.
