Hakim Luqman was right: There is no cure for doubts

Ravi entered the house and asked his wife, Reena, "Who came to our house today?"

  
"Why do you think anyone came, or how do you know?" Reena asked.

"I saw footprints on the main door."

"No one, but I came after shopping, so these are my footprints."

"I don't think you wear such big shoes, but they look like a man's footprint."

His wife looked at him but did not reply and started humming a song.

Ravi did not like his wife's humming. His wife had been doing this for the past few days. He had often seen his wife humming, but she was not replying to his queries.

Ravi was not sure if she was telling the whole truth, so he had doubts about his wife's character. He felt that if no one had come to the house, then whose muddy footprints were outside the main door? The doubt in his mind increased so much about this that he was thinking in terms of a divorce.

Now the situation was that they were both living together in the same house but were mentally and physically separated.

One day, Ravi was out in the market when he saw his old friend, who was a famous lawyer. Ravi thought he should consult him about his divorce plan.

Ravi went ahead and talked to him and asked him where he had been for the last few months because he hadn't seen him. His friend told him that he had gone abroad and just returned a few days ago. He had returned after spending three months on vacation with his wife and son.

Ravi said, "You should have met me before going abroad.'

His friend said, "I went to your house one day before going abroad. It was raining very heavily that day. Even after ringing the doorbell several times, no one opened the door."

Ravi said, "My wife is always at home, so why did she not open the door?"

Ravi's friend said, "At first I rang the doorbell so I thought maybe there was power shedding, or so I called out your name several times. Maybe my voice did not reach as it was a loud thundershower."

But then, when I went out of your house, I saw your wife returning from the market. She was drenched due to the rain. I did not want to disturb her, so I returned from outside itself. And then I had a flight the next day, and I was short on time.'

"When was this?"

"About three months ago."

Ravi was shocked. "Oh, those marks were formed by my friend's shoes, and I thought so bad about Reena?"

Ravi was in a state of shock and thinking, "Hakim Luqman was right when he said there is really no cure for doubts."
