"Keyword of the Week" / GUINEA PIG

I looked at her suspiciously. Had this girl aged naturally and not turned into a woman, she would probably have been crying loudly and would have put her head in my palms. But she was no longer a 24-year-old girl. She was behaving like a 40-year-old.

She was not wearing jeans as she did two years ago. She no longer studies at a college. Now she had probably forgotten to say "Oh, my baby" in conversation.

She did not stand and kiss me, but she was probably carrying the weight of being a woman on her shoulders, so she took a sip of wine from my glass instead of the mocktail kept in front of her.

But I could see that, despite being a woman, she had so much girl inside her, like we all keep a little guilt hidden in some corner of our minds, especially while trying to fool someone.

After years, when we came to join again, even that girl had no idea that after meeting me, her role would also become that of a cheater.

Even I had no idea that, after so many years, I would become a time traveler and fall into her trap. I thought I was writing the autobiography of a time traveler in my upcoming novel.

But I had no idea that this meeting with the girl would make me a loser. I didn't know I would start falling again as I did two years ago. I will start drawing beautiful dreams of love entangled in pink flowers.

I didn't know I would search for the most beautiful planet in the universe. But I should have known that true and strong love happens only once. Later, it's either a trap or one or the other partner makes you a GUINEA PIG.

As we sometimes close our eyes, we see that we are falling into a vast depth of black holes, drowning deep down. I might have started falling to the same depth if I hadn't realized just in time and said at the last moment, "I must go now. Today I have an important meeting with my publisher."

"Yes, I also had to meet my lawyer today. Probably, she knew that her prey had smelled the rat and was eager to leave as both of us were telling lies, and both of us knew it.
