Some years ago, during my academic training as an administrator at the University, students had to get an internship in a company, and demonstrate with an evaluation made by an immediate superior in the company the knowledge and skills acquired in our house of study, and at the same time we would begin to gain experience in a real environment that went beyond the theoretical approach.
With no fixed direction, I walked through all the streets of Caracas, (Venezuela), I left my curricular summaries and I had nothing left to do but wait for answers from the companies.
A classmate and also a very good friend worked in a company of auditors and consultants, he told me that one of his clients was a very successful mass consumption company dedicated to the production of food and beverages and they needed a person in the Financial Analysis Department. Additionally, it occurred to me to tell this to another fellow student who was also looking for an internship.
The day after I was informed of the need for an intern in that company I decided to take my resume, however I was presented with a problem, my aunt did not lend me her vehicle to go to take my resume, I was arguing with her all morning. I had no hope of going to the site in a private vehicle, so I took public transportation.
I arrived at the company in question and went to the Department of Recruitment and Selection of Personnel, upon arrival I was attended by the assistant Director of the Department which told me that I was too late because another person who had arrived three hours before me was accepted for the internship, and what caught her attention was that both that person and I belonged to the same university.
Although I left my resume, I left the place, I went to my classes at the University, and there I was greeted very effusively by the fellow student to whom I had told about the internship, he thanked me since he was the one selected by the company.
I froze and began to think that I would have had a better chance of getting the internship if I had not been involved in a family discussion that delayed my departure to the company and as a consequence I was too late. Also, I handled the information related to the internship indiscreetly.

My colleague did very well in that company, reaching high management positions and at the present time he has already retired from the organization. I have no resentment towards him, I think that he took advantage of the information that was given to him in a timely manner at the right time and at the right moment. I, on the other hand, did not think things through clearly, I arrived too late and lost the opportunity to develop professionally .
As an experience, I learned to be punctual and timely in life so as not to waste the opportunities that came my way. In my favor, I must say that soon after I was contacted by another company, which gave me the opportunity to develop professionally in the administrative and financial areas.
A pleasure and an honor to share my life story with you, this week's dynamic presents the key words: too late Link Here.
Let's not be one of those people who are too late for appointments or events as we may miss valuable opportunities in our lives. Thank you very much for your attention.
