I tried to rack my brain. Looking for some things that can be written until I found the right theme to write. Here I try to write about "Characteristics of the Megalithic Age"

You may already know that each era has its own characteristics, which distinguish it from other eras. These differences can include various aspects, ranging from people's behavior, architecture, equipment used, and other things.

However, there may be some of you who don't know the reason why researchers can find the characteristics of an era. The answer to this question is actually quite simple, namely that they can understand the characteristics of a period through its relics.

These scientists already have data collected thanks to their hard work for decades of work. The research that their predecessors carried out will be continued by their successors, so the information they obtain only needs to be adjusted to previous research data.

Starting to Switch to Bronze Equipment

Although many tools made of stone were found in the Megalithic Age, in fact these objects were no longer used by people in that era. Instead, they slowly switched to using tools made of bronze.

It has been explained that the Megalithic Age was a transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. What was found in that era were objects left behind by ancestors or forefathers from the previous era.

Having Animist Beliefs

What is meant by animist beliefs is the belief in a spirit or supernatural being around humans. People in the Megalithic Age are believed to believe that around them, there are spirits or supernatural beings who protect them.

This is one of the reasons behind the many discoveries of giant stones such as menhirs or monoliths. These stones, as explained above, serve as indicators of the location of traditional ceremonies of past communities related to this animist belief.

Have Started to Implement Animal Husbandry and Farming Techniques

Unlike the Stone Age society where they still relied on hunting animals and looking for fruits or vegetables from one field to another, the Megalithic Age society who were in this transitional period already understood how to raise livestock and farm crops.

With the technological advances they had at that time, as well as knowledge of new things related to food, the Megalithic Age society could work more effectively and more efficiently if they wanted to find food compared to their predecessors.

Have a Permanent Place to Live

The habit of people to hunt and look for other food from one place to another, made them dubbed as nomadic humans. However, after entering the Megalithic Age, these habits slowly changed.

Because the people at that time began to get used to raising livestock and farming, coupled with the growth of technology, the Megalithic Age people slowly began to build houses in locations around farms and fields, and became the forerunners of settled humans.
