Introduction

Hola my Crypto Gears!

At last, we have come to the close of this first week of classes in which I have been honored with an overwhelming acceptance and participation.

To be honest I did not expect in my first week to receive so many posts, which turned out to be a challenge to keep up with all of you. A total of 183 people joined this class and posted under the tag #allbert-s3week1. To all of you, thank you very much for your trust and effort.

Class 1, which I titled:
A world of Wallets and Exchanges
, was essentially about reflective rather than theoretical teaching. I never intended to focus on the concepts of Wallets and Exchanges, which had already been explored in last week's courses; rather my intention was to understand the fundamental differences between the two, and above all to explore why both exist and not just one.

As usual, at the end of the class, I set up a series of questions that would help me elucidate how much knowledge my student absorbed and explored. The assignment questions were as follows:

1- Explain differences between wallets and exchanges as well as mention which operations should be performed in an Exchange and which operations should be performed in a wallet (in terms of fees).

2- In your own words, Why You think people should have more than one exchange account?. Do you have an exchange account? And Why that specifically?

3- What are better? Wallets or exchanges?

4- Create an account in a wallet and in an exchange of your choice and show screenshots of the process.

Observations

For the most part, the content of the publications was between Good and average. This was due to several phenomena that I noticed when reading more than 180 articles written. In fact, most students made almost the same errors of interpretation.

.

First, for question 1 which is divided into two, it was concerned with explaining differences, not explaining concepts. As I said before the concepts of both were covered in last week's beginner courses, yet many invested energy and time in explaining something I clearly did not ask for.

Secondly, there is what for me was the heart of the question - Wallets and Exchanges fees. Many skipped this part and moved on to the next question, and some others just mentioned that wallet fees are higher than exchange fees. In this part, I expected a little more research from the students and real data on fees.

For me personally, data, numbers, winning percentages, losing percentages, rates of return, fees are important. It is through data that knowledge becomes palpable. I hope to convey this to all of you.

Then there are questions 2 and 3 with which I wanted to probe more about the students' judgment about exchanges and wallets. However, one phenomenon I detected here is that most were content to give the same answer. In fact, in several posts, I got the feeling I was reading the same thing, just in a different order.

Specifically, in question 2 there were people who mistakenly kept comparing wallets to exchanges when there is clearly no mention of wallets in the question.

On the other hand, in question 3, which I consider was the most difficult, not because of the answer (obviously both platforms are important, there is no one more important than the other) it was the one that best let me glimpse what was in the student's mind.

Many gave a superficial answer, while others again kept comparing and repeating what was answered in question 1. Only a few managed to hit the nail on the head and found a balance in the answer.

One of the answers I liked the most went something like this:

"I know both are important because they serve a function, however for my type of trading and my way of being (temperament) I prefer wallets as I usually only do HODL, as I don't really like trading exchanges because I find it stressful."

It was an answer that let me see the inside of that student, who is well aware of his limits in trading.

Finally, there are the presentation details. I know that most are just starting out in the Steemit Crypro Academy, however, it is important to be clear on the correct use of HTML codes, and the correct use of tags, textual citations, references, and links.

Any image taken from the Internet, in addition to being a free domain must be referenced with the link to the site where it comes from. Otherwise, it may be considered plagiarism.

Similarly, the general presentation of the publication plays an important role. The use of subtitles, centered text, justified, the use of separators, colored text are a factor that will make your work stand out from others... on the other hand, the poor management of them will detract from its value.

As an aside, I must remind you of some general rules of the Academy.

The first has to do with the closing time on receiving assignments. The closing time is 23:59 UTC, which is Coordinated Universal Time. Not to be confused with local time. In Venezuela, for example, 23.59 UTC corresponds to exactly 7:59 pm.

Another important aspect is to complete all the assignment questions. To assign a grade, the student must answer all questions. This is not optional. If not (in my case) I will NOT ASSIGN A GRADE.

Suggestions

All the recommendations I give you here are for the sake of improving the quality of the content posted and consequently improving STEEMIT's status as a content platform.

First of all, don't be satisfied with the content seen in class. In fact, I personally do not share all the content in the post, I do this to generate in students the need to study and explore by themselves. In fact, the knowledge that is best entrenched in our brains is not the one we are given in a classroom, but the one we discover by our own means.

As a Professor, I easily notice when someone contributes fresh knowledge of their own, just as I notice when someone is just repeating what they saw in another publication.

Because of this, my next recommendation is, don't read other people's posts, just focus on doing your own research, as I witnessed this week, several said the same mistakes, such as "Exchanges are Centralized". There are also Decentralized Exchanges my friends.

Finally the handling of cellular images.

I know from my own experience that when we take a screenshot from our cell phone and pass it to the computer, the result is very ugly, with giant images that occupy ¼ of the screen of our post. To avoid this, I recommend you crop the image or reduce its size in editing before uploading it to the post.

This will make your submission look more harmonious, and therefore you will receive a better rating.

The three most outstanding Gears of the week are:

To those selected, congratulations and keep up the good performance. To the rest, don't give up, study, improve and keep trying.
