Hello everyone, how are you doing? I hope it's been great with the break so far.
Here on today's, we have been requested by the community moderators and admins to write on our feedback regarding the experience we have had in the steemit crypto academy, here today, I will be writing my review and opinion regarding my experience since participating in the crypto academy.
NB: - The following review are just based on personal opinion, neither am I discrediting nor disregarding anyone's opinion or effort, as the review are purely based on my personal experience. read on, and I wish you happy reading!!.
I started participating in the steemit crypto academy, not until the closing of season 3 which was week 8, despite the hustle of me being able to catch up with the rep of 50 and as well the sp of 125 for beginners level as it is then, I was uttermost discouraged as my first week was terrible where I range within the score 4.8 and 4.9, afterward, I participated in fixed courses which were great as I was able to pick my experience from there on and there came in season4 where I participated fully only in beginners level due to the upgraded level of reputation and SP, afterward I keep up till season 5 where I was able to meet up with the reputation 60 and ever since then, my experience with crypto entirely has changed as I get to learn and partake more in dynamic courses and at the same time gains more knowledge as I tend to offer the four courses at least each week which are the beginners and intermediate courses.
The initiation of the crypto academy is by far the greatest thing that could have happened in the steemit community whereby it plunges more users from different parts of the world to participate and as well gathers lots of experience regarding cryptocurrency knowledge. this has been an uplifting moment to most individuals on these platforms as they get to participate more and at the same time learn, earn and as well increase their knowledge, I found this idea way fantastic.
Below is a list of things that have been great so far in the academy
Delivering lectures: The idea of having diligent professors to provide weekly courses for students is amazing as all these professors have found enough time to deliver an amazing lecture to students each week which has been fine up till now.
Rewarding users at the end of the season: These as well, is more of an interesting idea as it tends to boost more users to be selected in top3 among the best, this idea is similar to our experience in class whereby WE have multiple students taking classes but regardless, there are always going to be the ones who perform the best which for this, they get to be compensated either by awards or doubling their rank. this idea as well is to boost student in the crypto academy to participate better and perform better as the rewards given to top users is enticing enough to get each student to want to submit a quality post on each assignment.
Professors grading: Most grading by the professors have been nice which I encourage them to keep up with the idea as the professors took the most time to keep up with the schedules and as well submit quality posts and give sincere marking on each class.
Club5050: I'm in great support of club 5050 as it is a great idea of boosting users to acquire more Steem and as well make it far on the steemit blockchain.
Thou it's been normal that as a human when it comes to decision making, we can not always make full decisions at mass users interests, For example, the 150 Sp power up monthly is too restricted for users at the beginners level, I found this unfair as the same requirement is made for all users when compared to the students at advanced level thou its a matter of time.
The reputation requirement: When the reputation was increased in season4, a lot of users found this unfair as we know the level of difficulties it takes users to attain rep where all the reputation levels are increased by an additional +5 rep, this literally broke lots of people interest as rep is difficult to meet up with not as compared as Steem Power as users can still hustle harder and purchase steem from exchange to power up, but there is no way to attain more reputation unless you got voted, and the voting power at beginners level is as well so low when compared to others, this causes hindrance to users to meet up mostly with the required rep, so Yes, the Reputation increment didn't work well.
Steemcurator02 voting all post: when compared to previous season where 01 voted beginners and 02 voted intermediate and beginners, the voting thus comes in handy and quite easy, but these days, only 02 do the voting of like 300 + student, one thing I noticed as well with this is that, the 02 then voted the advance courses first, before coming down to others level which in this case, most post have expired, and the reposting as well doesn't have tags yet, so I believe it might be quite difficult to navigate a repost before attaining users there vote, for my case, I had a course have reposted 4 different times yet to be voted which is not okay enough.
Professors interaction: Only little professors interact with students on their grades and remarks, for a couple of times students complain and they get no feedback in return from the professor which the purpose, I don't know why, it's of certainty that the professors must have seen the reply and chooses to ignore maybe due to irrelevancy, but this is not okay enough as there is no one above mistakes, it could have been great if professors tend to engage with students more on there remarks so students can know where to participate more next and as well improve incoming tasks.
Assigning four professors to Beginners: The Hindrance I found mostly is with the beginners level, the beginners' vote is not enough, the professors as well have more tasks to review and one thing I noticed is that the beginners' prof rewards are also low when compared to advance profs, but this is not supposed to be so when we look at the number of reviews those profs have to mark each week, which is why I suggest more professors to the beginners level to ease the profs there work.
Some tasks are too difficult: My issue mostly is still with the beginners in a case whereby they give beginners task that is way too hard for beginners level since advance or intermediate level might have been more experienced when doing the task, the beginners that are just joining might find it difficult to answer which thus case might prove difficult to the users at beginners.
Firstly, the idea of the academy is to have more users, teach and as well have people learn about the crypto world, personally what I would have done is create the idea of having more users to be able to participate, put in more tasks for an individual.
New Professor each season: The idea I will include is to have more professors or let me say new professors on each season as this can be chosen from the top students from the previous season, it can then be their choice to be selected or not as this can prove more fairness to the network.
I would also suggest post be voted based on a certain amount of reward not based on percentage, as the percentage voting doesn't come in handy because of fluctuation of the market, which we have seen from the past season as the rewards were nearly split by half, yet no additional voting reward as this put hindrance as users were unable to earn as expected from the weekly rewards, despite that, students still keep up with there participation, kudos to them all!!
I would also omit the 150 sp power up each month, which this is a case whereby users who were unable to participate a couple of weeks ago due to one thing or other, can as well always come back without the disqualification of them not being able to power up 150 sp within a month.
Markings: I have no issue with the professors marking scheme, all professors have proven diligence in their marking scheme so far, which I commend them for that, as we are all human, we are expected to make mistakes but each professor have proven worth of there task as the markings are given sincerely, even thou, I was a victim of low scores couple of times ago in the crypto academy, which I believe I am still in recovery phases, as I tend not to be discouraged rather put in more efforts to increase and have better knowledge.
Rewards: Just as I said earlier regarding the rewards is not motivating enough or let me rather say is not as much as compared to the previous level, earlier I made mention of having a particular reward rather not based on voting as the vote tends to work in disadvantage to users more especially during the dip, as the rewards tend to drop drastically, and as well it will be nice if we could have the same level of reward we had in the previous season whereby the voting of the post was split as 02 and 01 votes the courses, this can be done to ease 02 of its voting power and focus on the beginners and intermediate level alone.
Steemit is one of the greatest things that ever happened to me, as I have always been a great enthusiast of the crypto world, it all seems tricky to me and as well difficult before not until I engage in the crypto academy where I can now be buoyant outside regarding anything related crypto.
The part I as well enjoyed most in the academy is where we get to dive more into crypto-related topics that do not just chart analysis mostly the part where we talk about other consensus mechanisms, other crypto projects, just at the course I took from professor Pelon53 where we discuss luna and Terra, it was my best week so far, as I have always wonder around about the terra and luna blockchain wondering what is behind them, but when I took the topic I was able to dive more and understand the analysis better which was so satisfying to me in the particular time, as I have always thought crypto is just about trading and speculating but taking courses like metaverse and others made me realize how deep the crypto world is.
Yes, the academy has great deal inspired me to learn more about crypto subjects to the point where I could boast really to friends and crypto experts that when it comes to the crypto-related topics, I am in no way behind as I definitely can also have a say about a thing or two relating to the crypto subject.
I have extended my crypto knowledge to the point whereby I have lots of assets in multiple exchanges, due to time, I couldn't present the images here. And as well, I have extended my knowledge to the point where I traded live, for instance, a couple of days ago I did 2 hours of trading of FARMUSDT where I combined supertrend indicator which wedge patterns to know when the coin is showing another direction, I set my time range in 5 min to quickly know what the market is going to do, I set my limit based on the previous class experience where at the end of my trade I made twice of my $50 investment that particular day, Thanks to Steemit Crypto Academy I said, I found it so fulfilled that day as I was able to put my knowledge into real trading and since then, I have the mindset of putting lots of investment in crypto trading for now, in as long as I could give proper monitoring to the trade.
Here comes the end of my feedback on the steemit crypto academy, we should note that this feedback is purely based on my experience in the academy which I did start late from week 8 of the 3rd season, all my crypto experience started from then, and as well my feedback was made from the point on then, which might not be valid as there might have been a possible difference before I started participating in the crypto academy.
I appreciate you all for following through with my review, I want you to know the point, is not to mislead anyone or discriminate, as the point are just my own opinion, which as I said, may not tally be valid as I started participating more in the academy community around August 2021.
