Hello Steemians, Welcome to another great week in the Steemit Crypto Academy. It is always good to be back to enjoy the amazing lectures.

Introduction

Professor @imagen described dominance and connected it to cryptocurrency in his lecture, making the idea of crypto dominance quite understandable. But now, in my own words, I'll clarify what supremacy in the crypto world means to me.

Explain in your own words, the concept of Dominance in the world of cryptocurrencies. What is the dominance of Bitcoin at the time of performing your task? (Present at least 1 graph)

In a simple sentence Dominance refers to a thing's superior authority over another, which gives it an advantage over others and makes it more valuable than anything else in the same room.
Bitcoin Dominance refers to Bitcoin's dominance in the cryptospace over other cryptocurrencies, as measured by its share of the global overall market capitalization.

When Bitcoin first came in 2009, it was the first and only cryptocurrency available at the time, giving it complete 100% domination. Bitcoin's market dominance at the time of writing is currently 40.89%, a significant decrease from previous years. I'll also provide a screenshot of Bitcoin dominance below.

Mention at least 2 times where the market had strong falls, mention several affected currencies. (Use screenshots)

First Strong fall

I'm going to speak about a significant market drop that occurred recently. In less than a day, BTC fell from $59000 to $48,600!
And, as we learned in class, the price of bitcoin influences several other coins, so let's see what other coins were influenced by the price of bitcoin on May 13th. The chart below depicts the sharp drop in bitcoin's price in a single day.

Btc fell from $59k to $49.6k on the 12th-13th of May, a whopping $8.4k drop in the market in just one day!!
Given that BTC is the most common cryptocurrency at the moment, it's safe to assume that this drop has impacted the majority of cryptocurrencies. I've shown two of the most common altcoins below, both of which have been impacted by the drop in BTC.

On the 12th and 13th of May, the price of XRP ripples dropped from $1.547 to $1.25, a decrease of around $0.31 in the xrp market. The last few days could have been hell for holders, as many coins' prices plummeted within a few hours of the day.

Second Strong fall

About the 22nd of February 2021, the cryptocurrency market plummeted after the US Treasury Secretary said that Bitcoin is highly volatile and unreliable for transactions. After reaching an all-time high of $58.418K and it dropped to $53.680k, this announcement was made. Following that, the price of BTC dropped dramatically over the next week.

Similarly, Ethereum was impacted by the sharp decline, from $1.937k to $1.520K. This occurred after Ethereum hit a new all-time high of $2,000.

What is the Altcoin Season?

The altcoin season is described as a period of time during which more people buy other coins than BTC. Altcoins stand for alternative to Bitcoin coins, and altcoin season is a period of time when altcoins capture a larger share of the overall market cap.

Because of the rise in the price of altcoins, as well as the increase in the number of altcoins, I believe that altcoin seasons will last longer and be more frequent.

Give a brief description of at least 2 altcoins that are in the TOP 50.

Ethereum, Binance Coin, Cardano, XRP, Polkadot, Dogecoin, Uniswap, and a number of other altcoins are among the top 50. For this subject, I'll discuss Ethereum and Dogecoin.

Ethereum

Ethereum is a fantastic open-source blockchain that runs on the ETH (ether) currency, is the most widely used blockchain, and allows smart contract transactions within blocks.

Ethereum was first introduced by Vitalik Buterin, a programmer, in 2013, but only entered the crypto market in 2015.

At the start of the year, ethereum's supply was about 72 million ETH, and it steadily rose after that. It is a decentralized block chain that allows users of the blockchain to communicate more freely.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency that was created by two software developers, Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer, and first appeared in the media in 2013. The goal of this cryptocurrency is to build a payment system that is free and enjoyable to use by eliminating transfer fees.
Since Elon Musk dubbed himself the DOGEfather, DOGE has seen huge growth in recent weeks.

How can relevant news influence the price of cryptocurrencies in a positive or negative way? Name at least 3 examples. (Use screenshots) (Example: SENSO announced a 70% token burn, in a week the price increased more than 100%)

Ripple SEC Suit

Ripple was charged with conducting $1.3 billion in unregistered security offerings by the US Securities and Exchange Commission on December 22nd. Ripple raised funds in 2013 through the presale of XRP tokens, which are unregistered securities, according to the SEC. This news caused fear among investors, prompting them to sell their XRP. Due to the SEC suit, several exchanges have reported that XRP trading will be suspended. This was really poor for XRP, and the price of the cryptocurrency plummeted.

Due to this news XRP went down drastically from a price of $0.68 to $0.17

Shina Inu Coin (SHIB) Listing

After Binance announced that SHIB will be included in their innovation zone, the coin's price skyrocketed. This news caused SHIB to skyrocket past 100%.

SHIB was listed on 10th of May, 2021 and the price rose from $0.00001412 to $0.00005

Elon Musk Tweet

On May 9 Elon Musk tweeted Using Doge as a sponsor for his spaceX project is a good idea. Even though the tweet was just 5 hours old at the time, the price of DOGE had already risen significantly, as seen below.

Coinbase listing the STORJ

On March 23, 2021 Coinbase announced that they will list STORJ

Describe one of the following Penny cryptocurrencies: Shiba Inu, Safemoon, or Eclipse

Shiba Inu

Shina Inu comes with the SHIB token, which is a meme coin from the DOGECOIN family. SHIB is an ERC-20 token, meaning it was created on the Ethereum blockchain. Shiba Inu has climbed to the number 18 spot in terms of market capitalization, with a current price of $0.00001599.

In conclusion SHIB has seen a huge price increase in recent days, and Binance just listed it on their exchange in the innovation zone today, 10-05-2021. The SHIB has increased by more than 100% since the latest listing. Shiba Inu coin is stepping up its game in the crypto ecosystem with this listing, and we might see it grow even bigger in the coming weeks.
