Is crypto trading competition rewarding?

I've been a crypto trader for 5 years now and never joined a trading competition cos I'd always think they are actually not real. What I do generally is to HODL my long term asset on my trezor wallet and trade my other assets on exchanges(I use 3 exchanges actually depending on the asset I want to trade).

Recently, I spoke to a friend about the idea of participating in a trading competition and he told me that a few of those events are actually very rewarding and also there are some that have realistic minimum requirement like KCGI and WSOT. I think KCGI will be held in October this year.
I've read through the guidelines and I realized there are 2 categories of traders that could compete: individual trader and team traders. If I were to join, I had rather prefer to go in as a member of a team to increase my chances of winning and also learn more as a trader.

But the question right now is how rewarding are these trading competition? I need opinions from experienced traders.
And also would you have gone for it if it were you? What would be your strategy if you were to join?

It was inspiring to learn about your experience trading cryptocurrencies and your thoughts on trading competitions. But in the world of trading competitions, I've created a dual approach that successfully combines my tried-and-true HODLing philosophy with the excitement of aggressive market moves. I'll also construct a tapestry of diversification while tightly controlling risk.

I've participated in a few trading competitions in the past but i can't say I got lucky. But looking at this competition you mentioned and the provision for traders to join as a team, I think I could explore the opportunity.

I heard that the KCGI is similar to WSOT, tho I've not participated in the former. I'd love to give it a try by joining a team cos I believe in team's effort.

Joining a team is okay if you're familiar with traders. But I like going solo to competitions. It gives me the edge that I need to win a trophy. at this point, I'll hone my strategies. If there are any mistakes, I'll simply improve them through backtesting.
