WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF THE AUDIUS PLATFORM IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
Audius platform is a great decentralized project in the world of music and in the music industry today. This platform is known by a few who has interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain. In our world today, we have numerous people who pick interest in creating music or releasing a music album, which include both famous and non famous artiste.

Audius The music platform present in the music industry right from time has always been a centralized one, where the artiste has to pay a required sum of money before his music is being published for people to listen to. The high payment rate required by the publishers who are otherwise known as the intermediaries here has always turned off or discouraged some young artiste who have plans of creating their own music and standing out. This is one of the reasons the Audius platform has been established.
The decentralized platform was created/established in 2018 by Roneil Ramburg and Forrest Browning and it has really been of tremendous help to forth coming artiste and already existing artiste. Since Audius is a decentralized music platform, it runs on a blockchain. Therefore, it gives room for artiste to upload and also make their music public without the involvement of an intermediary or a third party that will decide for them what to do with their music. With audius, the artiste has full control and the management of his music.
This decentralized platform has a token of its own which is known as AUDIO. It can be purchased by users but it is usually given to artiste as a reward for competing and coming out in the first top five(5). This token can also be earned if people or users listen to the published music.
There are also issues of music theft in the centralized music platform, where a person or a fellow artiste takes on another artiste's songs/musics and claims it to be his or hers. But this issue has been curtailed with the introduction of the audius decentralized platform, where no one will be able to steal anybody's music or copy the music as theirs. Here, everything is just transparent to everyone on the blockchain, the music and everything about it can be seen and read and also be listened to but can't be stolen.
With all of these issues the presence of audius has been able to solve, I'll say that audius is a great project introduced into the music industry and with it everything will go smoothly among artiste.

Decentralization simply means the dissemination of power to reach of of everyone. But when there is a tweak in some in some aspect of the decentralization, the definition refuse to be complete.
The Audius governance hasn't made the platform completely decentralized because power is confined to just a specific group of persons who meet the requirements holding up to 200,000 Audio, which is very unfair.
This means that an average person in the platform doesn't have a say a single right to vote which is not what decentralization is all about.
I can imagine how the block validators in the platform will be unserious or impartial with validation of transactions, knowing very well that the masses do not have the voting right to vote them out.
Users are denied of the the right to make decisions in the platform because they have less quantity of the AUDIO token.
I am of the opinion that voting should be done on the grounds that for every token a user holds, that determines his or her voting right. With that, the validators will take the work seriously knowing too well if they are unserious, they'll be voted out.
In addition to the validators being serious, the security of the platform will be well enacted .
Therefore, until everyone is allowed own the right to vote, the decentralized definition of the Audius platform remains incomplete.
EXPLAIN HOW TO DO 2 TYPES OF STAKING ON AUDIUS COMPLETE WITH ILLUSTRATIONS. (IMAGE REQUIRED)
In the audius platform two types of staking can be done/carried out and there are: Node Operator Staking and Client/Artist staking but before we go into them I will have to connect my metamask wallet to the audius platform.
To access the platform's official website I used the link audius.org
- I clicked on explore the dashboard.
- Click on the connect metamask icon situated at the top right corner of the page
- Click on the open metamask button.
- I click on next so as to connect the wallet to the platform
- I then clicked on the connect icon shown on the wallet.
- Here is the proof of the successful wallet connection to the Audius platform.
- With my wallet still connected to the platform, I clicked on services as can be found on the dashboard.
- I then went ahead and clicked on register new services
- When I clicked on register new service, I was shown two options to either stake as a discovery node or a content node. There is a space provided for amount or price that has to be filled and the least AUDIO TOKEN meant for staking by the two nodes is 200,000 which is quite huge. Therefore before filling the amount to be staked, the limit must be considered. Also type in either your discovery end point or content end point depending on the one chose. After everything, I clicked on register service.
- I then confirmed with metamask. I was unable to continue due to insufficient fund.
- With my wallet still logged in, I again clicked on service which can be seen on the dashboard and then chose figment as the operator I want to delegate to.
- I entered the amount to be delegated to him which is 5000 AUDIO before clicking on delegate.
- Then I clicked on confirm
- Here, i do not have enough balance funds to complete the staking.
SHOW THE STEPS TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON AUDIUS
There are two ways to create an audius account which are: a browser or an application. I will love to make use of the application which I will have to download from the play store
- First, go to play store and search for the application audius.
- I downloaded and installed it on my phone.
- I then clicked to open.
- To be able to sign up, I'll need to input my email address which I did as can be seen before clicking on the sign up button.
- I was also required of to setup my password twice which consists of 8 numbers, also hard to guess, and must correspond to each other. I then clicked on continue.
- I filled out my profile manually by typing in my name and my account handle. And then clicked to continue the sign up.
- I was asked to follow three artiste in which I did before clicking on continue.
My audius account has been successfully setup as can be seen.

The Music Feed: The feed feature consists of the three kinds of post that you'd love to view and listen to which are all post, original post and repost as can be seen in the screenshot below.
The Notification Feature: As the name implies, it is the feature that gives us information or notifies us about issues or improvements taking place on the platform.
Trending Music: This feature here gives us easy access to musics that are trending on the platform.
Search Icon: With the search bar or icon one will be able to search for and find the artiste or music he wants to listen to.
Explore Feature: The explore feature helps us explore more and find the numerous musics and artiste present on the platform.
Appearance Feature:This is the feature which makes an artiste choose the appearance he want for his platform, which are auto, dark and light
EXPLAIN IN DETAIL HOW IS THE MECHANISM FOR LOADING MUSIC CONTENT IN AUDIUS
The Audius platform uses two Mechanism for uploading music content. These two are, content node and the discovery node.
Whenever a music content, is uploaded in Audius, the first node that ensures that the upload is securely stored is the content node.
The content node keeps record of the uploads in the platform.
After the uploads are recorded by the content node, the discovery note takes.
The discovery node ensures that the uploads on the platform are originally owned by the person who uploaded it. The idea behind this is to ensure that transparency is ensured in the platform.
These two Mechanism are great tools which tries to ensure a high level of originality in the Audius platform

I was unable to upload my track with the audius app I downloaded into my phone so I went on to use the website.
I signed into my account on the audius website using this link
I clicked on my username
- Next I clicked on upload track
- I then browsed to download
- Then I selected genre as funk and mood as easy going I also chosed an artwork made/design by them.
- It took some time before the track was successfully uploaded as it had to read from 1% to 100%.

CONCLUSION
The Audius platform is one great platform that has inspired and motivated musicians by giving them the opportunity to upload, manage their music and earn. This is such a wounderful innovation in the music industry that is worth embracing.
Moreover, the presence of audius platform has made it possible for both upcoming and new artiste to have access to their profits without the consent of an intermediary which is the music label company. Also, for a song to be copyrighted, these artist do not need the intermediary to do so for them.
